I’m your host, Nicole Delacroix and together, we will be investigating stories about the weird, wonderful, unexplained, eerie, scary and down-right unbelievable. And on today’s Dark enigma since we’re coming up on the holiday season and if you’re anything like me you’re already sick of the songs, movies and specials and if one more person tells me to have a merry Christmas, I’m going to barf. So, with that said, I thought a little anti-Christmas was in order, or at least we can have some fun mocking the holiday spirit as it was. As always, we will be playing our drinking game and as you know, the drinking game is only for those of us that are at home and have nowhere else to go tonight. The choice of libation is up to you, so choose your venom accordingly… Alright, now for the game part how about every time I say Evil that will be a single shot and every time I say Austria, that will be a double shot. Ok, now that the business end is out of the way we can jump headfirst into today’s dark enigma… and the story of Krampusnacht or… the Legend of Krampus!
They say he comes on the evening of December 5th, a night they call “Krampusnacht,” armed with a bundle of gold-painted birch sticks to beat naughty children with. You can usually hear him coming: the soft steps of one bare human foot alternate with the clip-clop of his cloven hoof. His name is Krampus, and he’s the terror of Austria and the Alpine region.
A mangled, deranged face with bloodshot eyes tops a furry black body. Giant horns curl up from his head, displaying his half-goat, half-demon lineage. Behind this terror, a dozen more stomp through the snow of the streets of Lienz, Austria, among a din of cowbell jangles. The creatures dash through the streets, chasing giggling children and adults alike, poking them with sticks and scaring some with the realization that they were naughty this year.

PORN STASH' OR RADICAL ISLAM AT HEART OF PENSACOLA SHOOTER? Dec 18, 2019

On December 6, 2019, Mohammed Saeed Alshamrani perpetrated a mass
shooting at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida. But, the question
remains: was he motivated to attack because of deep radical Islamist beliefs
or because his teacher shamed him by calling him 'Porn Stash’? Or both?
There’s evidence - including online anti-American postings and quotes
from Osama Bin Laden - that he may have been radicalized as early as
2015. But, the same month his teacher at the Pensacola base compared
his mustache to that which porn stars wear, he filed papers to buy a gun.
Coincidence? Hear about many other fascinating aspects of the case,
such as other Saudi students visiting New York’s Ground Zero with
Alshamrani days before, watching video of mass shootings at a dinner
hosted by him and videotaping the massacre.
Then travel to Saudi Arabia, and hear what the shooter’s family members
have to say. Usually, families are lying when they deny having any idea
their relative was a terrorist - but this family seems like they may be
struggling to make sense of how their son/brother who'd dreamed of being
a pilot since he was a little boy, could have destroyed his dream by
perpetrating this attack.

And on today’s Dark enigma we’re going to be exploring a disturbing, true tale that will have your heads spinning. As always, we will be playing our drinking game but please remember the drinking game is only for those of us that are at home and have nowhere else to go tonight, and most importantly, drink responsibly. I’ll leave the choice of libation to you so, you’re on your own, although with today’s story I’d recommend something hard like whiskey or vodka, but again, up to you my darlings. Now for the game part, every time I say murder that will be a single shot and every time I say cabin, that’s a double shot. Alright, now that we have the business end out of the way we can jump headfirst into today’s dark enigma… and the crazy, unbelievable story of the Keddie Cabin murders.
It’s the reason you lock your door at night. It’s the reason you check and recheck that deadbolt before going to bed. You’ll be lying there alone in your bed listening and analyzing every noise you hear. Did you just hear something downstairs? Is that the creaking sound of footsteps ascending the stairs towards your bedroom? Did you remember to lock the backdoor? Home invasions are a not an all too common occurrence, but for most people they are a major fear, a fear that Bryan Bertino exploited quite well in 2008’s THE STRANGERS, the story of a young couple who become the victims of a random home invasion while vacationing in their remote summer home. But what makes the film more frightening is that there was a rumor that it was based on real events. You may want to check those locks one more time now. Although the film does bare a resemblance to the highly publicized Tate-Labianca murders of 1969, there is a less well-known murder that has also been discussed in regards to the film.
In November of 1980, Glenna “Sue” Sharp was renting a cabin in Keddie, California, an isolated wooded region in the northern part of the state. During the 80s, it was a derelict town where people usually ended up when everything else in their life had gone wrong. It also had a big crime problem for such a small town.
