DOUBLE TROUBLE: Using Terrorism Alert Levels for Covid May 27, 2020
    Show notes

Cities and countries across the globe are creating color-coded
threat level warning systems for Covid-19, triggering haunting
memories of 9/11. It’s ironic that they are copying something
learned to combat carnage from terrorism, while terrorists are
now learning to copy a bio-agent like Coronavirus — a perfect
tool for destruction of the West. They’re seeing how bioterrorism
is much more effective than ramming or knifing attacks, or even
suicide bombs to bring societies to their knees.
First, we look back at the Homeland Security Advisory System
that was created because of 9/11, with its 5 levels of risk of
terrorist attacks, from red indicating severe risk to green
indicating low risk. It was not only meant to warn American
citizens, but also governmental agencies, airports and so on.
The color codes were a good, clear system that works in
emergencies when people are too panicked to start trying to
    figure out murky details.
It’s no wonder then that places from Dallas, Texas to the UK,
have now instituted color-coded systems to warn of the risk
of Coronavirus. We look at each of these and the social
media criticism they’re getting because people are fed up
with being told what to do and because their memories of
    9/11 are being triggered.

Welcome heathens welcome to the world of the weird and unexplained. I’m your host, Nicole Delacroix and together, we will be investigating stories about the weird, wonderful, unexplained, eerie, scary and down-right unbelievable. There will be tales of ghosts, murder, supernatural beings and unexplained mysteries. So, sit back, grab your favorite drink, relax and prepare to be transported to today's dark Enigma....
And on today’s Dark enigma my inspiration for today’s episode came from a Memorial Day marathon of Supernatural. The episode for this case was one of my favorites and I know you guys are going to love this story, so, with that said, we will be playing our drinking game and of course, you know, the drinking game is only for those of us that are at home and have nowhere else to go tonight. The choice of potion is yours, so choose your venom accordingly… Alright, now for the game part how about every time I say Henry that will be a single shot and every time I say Chicago, that will be a double shot. Now that the business end is out of the way we can jump headfirst into today’s dark enigma… and the mysterious Haunted Murder Castle of Chicago.
There are some creepy places in this world that go beyond merely haunted, being not only supposedly infested by ghosts but also imbued with a history of pain, woe, strife, and death, indeed, pure evil. One such place exists in the city of Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. It was here that one of the nation’s very first serial killers would build a sadistic chamber of horrors to live out his most demented fantasies, and the “Murder Castle” has remained a dark mark on the city’s history and haunted with both real ghosts and its own horrific past.
In 1886, a man named Henry Howard Holmes came to the city of Chicago, Illinois, and began a humble job working at a corner drugstore owned by an Elizabeth S. Holton, and by all accounts he was an intelligent, hard-working, and very charming man who before long had made quick friends with everyone in the area. He also seemed to be moving up in the world, eventually buying the store and becoming owner. What many people did not know was that the man they knew as H.H. Holmes was not who they thought he was, and that he was to begin a reign of terror that would shock the city, and indeed the nation.

TERRORISTS - LIKE CORONAVIRUS - ARE OUT OF CONTROL May 20, 2020
    Show notes

We can try to tame coronavirus by building our immunity,
but terrorists keep popping up all over - this week in
Afghanistan, Spain, Italy and California. The ink was
barely dry on a peace treaty in coronavirus-torn
Afghanistan when three terrorist attacks on the same
day shook hope of its success. Though the Taliban
denied responsibility, they haven’t condemned these
lethal attacks on a maternity hospital, funeral and
    market.
In Spain another terrorist was captured. Unlike Abdel
Bary who used the coronavirus lockdown to hide out
behind a mask, this terrorist, a Moroccan ISIS follower,
came to police attention by repeatedly breaking
lockdown rules to scout locations for a terror attack.
In Italy, a nurse on her way home from her job treating
coronavirus patients, was raped by an illegal migrant
from Senegal. And lastly, Tahawwur Rana, incarcerated
in a California federal prison for his role in supporting
the terror group that carried out the Mumbai attack,
is asking for compassionate release because he’s
    positive for Covid-19.

Dark Enigma - Marijuana as a Funerary Rite and Memorial Day May 20, 2020

And on today’s Dark enigma we’ve got a two for one special. I have an interesting story about marijuana and I wanted to do something to commemorate Memorial Day on Monday. So, with that, we will still be playing our drinking game and as you know, the drinking game is only for those of us that are at home and have nowhere else to go tonight. The choice of beverage is yours, so choose your contagion accordingly… Alright, now for the game part how about every time I say pot that will be a single shot and every time I say Memorial, that will be a double shot. Yep, I know I’m freeking hilarious anyway, now that the business end is out of the way we can jump headfirst into today’s dark enigma… and the history of marijuana and funeral rites with a side of Memorial Day.
Hot on the discovery of evidence that the first marijuana plant popped out of the ground on the Tibetan plateau 28 million years ago comes evidence of pot smoking and heavy group inhaling at a funeral in the Pamir Mountains of Central Asia about 2,500 years ago. Was this a way to help the mourning with their grief, celebrate the passing of a friend or promote more funerals?
This phytochemical analysis indicates that cannabis plants were burned in wooden braziers during mortuary ceremonies at the Jirzankal Cemetery (ca. 500 BCE) in the eastern Pamirs region. This suggests cannabis was smoked as part of ritual and/or religious activities in western China by at least 2500 years ago and that the cannabis plants produced high levels of psychoactive compounds.
