The Relicbuds return this week with another episode! In traditional fashion the buds smash their minds together to see what sorts of discussion falls out. Ep 7: Catacombs Kickstarter Details Sep 13, 2022

The buds are back in town! Metal King Studio prepares to launch the 6th Relicblade Kickstarter and the Relicbuds dig into the origins of the project and the details of the Kickstarter campaign. Many of the Relicbuds episodes so far have centered on the Catacombs of Kural solo/coop adventure. Now, after nearly a year of struggling to complete the project, Sean and Malev are prepared to launch a Kickstarter campaign to fund the Catacombs of Kural!

Ep 6: Aug-Suul Playtest Aug 17, 2022

Cool fellows, Sean and Malev bonk their brain-holders together a bit about the latest updates and changes to the Aug-Suul faction, with a little dip-dive on some playtesting, Aug-Suul studio paint scheme and thoughts about painting, and a battle that was fought with lots of new upgrades! If you find yourself distracted and or frustrated with Malev's audio like he is, you can instead laugh at the Irony that is: because of the high powered condenser mic he feels is necessary, he also feels a gate is necessary, but he apparently has no idea how that works. The audio engineer has been fired. Also it's me, Malev.. talking in the third person and firing myself. Next episode will be better!

This is episode zero of Relicbuds: A Metal King Studio Podcast. This podcast is part Metal King Studio newsletter and part outlet for deep thoughts about games design, art making, and raw brainstorming. It is essentially an entertaining studio hang out session with a couple of your favorite creators.

In this primer episode, Sean and Malev explore some thoughts about being independent artists these days. There is a battle going on in our eccentric brains. We contend with the pull between becoming an insane wizard-hermit who toils alone and the desire to reconnect with the world and our art and gaming communities.

We also muse at length about making art, writing, and some game design theory. This podcast episode, being episode zero, has some audio issues. We are working on sorting all that out. Nevertheless, join us on our journey of friendship and creativity.
