Ep 612 | DEBATE: Pro-Life vs. Pro-Choice Christian | Guest: Brandan Robertson May 05, 2022

Show notes

Today we're happy to welcome Pastor Brandan Robertson to the show to discuss and debate the issue of abortion. Brandan represents the pro-choice side of things and gives his thoughts on Roe v. Wade being overturned as well as what he thinks laws regarding abortion should look like. We end up debating the theological and scientific question of when life begins, and although things get a little intense at times, it's so important that Christians with differing views are able to come together for civil discussion and debate.

Note: There are times in the conversation when Brandan tried to interject but his audio did not come through due to Skype settings. This was not intentional on our part. We pause halfway through the interview to fix this.

Ep 611 | How Woke Ideology Has Ruined Therapy | Guest: Dr. Sally Satel May 04, 2022

Show notes

Today we're talking to psychiatrist Dr. Sally Satel about how woke ideology and progressivism are working their way into the mental health field. We talk about the consequences of therapists and other mental health professionals using leftist ideology when treating their patients and how harmful it is when you absolve people of any responsibility for their issues and instead blame systemic issues and society as a whole. Dr. Satel explains how this happened and how this kind of therapy is ineffective at helping people work through their problems. At a time when mental health problems are ripping through young people, the last thing we need to be doing is feeding them woke platitudes from Instagram or TikTok.

Ep 610 | If Roe Ends, the Fight Over Abortion Just Begins | Guest: Josh Hammer May 03, 2022

Show notes

Today we're reacting to the huge news that dropped Monday night that, according to documents leaked from the Supreme Court, the court plans to overturn Roe v. Wade. Obviously, this is awesome news for those of us who oppose abortion. Josh Hammer joins the show to talk about some of the legal nuances of this story and how utterly unprecedented it is for documents to be leaked from the Supreme Court, especially for such a landmark decision. We discuss the political angle and what this means for the Democrats and Republicans going forward. Then, after we talk to Josh, we discuss the theological side of things and laugh at some of the ridiculous reactions the Left is having to this news.

Ep 609 | Tim Keller’s Terrible Abortion Take May 02, 2022

Show notes

Today we're reacting to and discussing Tim Keller's recent tweets in which he fundamentally misunderstands the political debate over abortion in America. We go through the tweet thread and discuss what he gets wrong and talk about the theological reasons behind wanting to ban abortion, as compared to whether or not other biblical tenets need to be codified in law. We also talk a little bit about Jen Hatmaker and the wonky racial theology she recently espoused in her podcast.

Ep 608 | Should Christians Trust Elon Musk? Apr 28, 2022

Show notes

Today we're talking about a couple of stories that demonstrate how the Left has to rely on lies and propaganda to function. First, we discuss Elon Musk buying Twitter and the absolute meltdown it's triggered on the Left. For some reason, liberals feel threatened by the idea that free speech might actually make its way back to Twitter. Although Elon Musk isn't the sole savior of America or humanity (obviously), what he's doing with Twitter is much more likely to have a positive outcome than a negative one. Over at the White House, the Biden administration has announced the creation of the Disinformation Governance Board, which will fill an alarmingly similar role to George Orwell's "Ministry of Truth" from his novel "1984." Then, we talk about the Melissa Lucio case again and how the people who swear up and down that she's innocent can only do so by ignoring facts and relying on appeals to emotion.

Show notes

Today we're talking to Bob Woodson Sr. founder and president of the Woodson Center, an organization that aims to help grassroots leaders in the black community find real, practical solutions to poverty and crime in their communities. We talk about some of the myths about American history that the Left promotes to convince people that America is a white supremacist nation and what the actual historical facts are. Mr. Woodson also talks a bit about his faith and how Christianity plays a role in the work that the Woodson Center does. Then, we discuss specifically how Christian women can overcome divisive leftist rhetoric and find real solutions to America's problems.

Ep 605 | Coach Kennedy & Today’s SCOTUS Hearings | Guests: Joe Kennedy & Jeremy Dys Apr 25, 2022

Show notes

Today we're talking to former high school football coach Joe Kennedy and his attorney from First Liberty Institute, Jeremy Dys. Coach Kennedy has been locked in an eight-year legal battle with his former employer, Bremerton School District, after the district took issue with Kennedy's tradition of saying a silent prayer after football games. Despite Kennedy trying his best to work with the school district officials and find a way to compromise, they were insistent that any prayer he does must be completely out of sight, and now the case will be heard before the Supreme Court. Obviously, the case is ridiculous, as Kennedy has a First Amendment right to express his religious beliefs. But Jeremy Dys points out that this case could have dire implications for the right of free speech in America, as the leftist activists in the school system and justice system who stand against Coach Kennedy vehemently want to push any expression of Christianity out of public sight.

Ep 604 | Disney, DeSantis & the Death of the Old GOP Apr 21, 2022

Show notes

Today we're celebrating Ron DeSantis, seemingly one of the only Republican politicians with an actual spine, hitting back against Disney after the company tried to use lies and propaganda to stoke opposition to the Parental Rights in Education bill. For some reason, the Left is still mad about this law, and many of them still actually think it's called the "Don't Say Gay" bill. However, as we've discussed, all the bill does now that it's been made law is to guarantee that schools and teachers cannot keep secrets from parents and that explicit discussion of sex and gender identity cannot be included in school curriculum. But that didn't stop Disney from raising a disrespectful ruckus about it, and now it's paying the price, as DeSantis has stripped Disney of special legal privileges that allowed the company to effectively institute its own government on its land. If conservatives want to win the culture war, or even just survive it, GOP members all across the country need to take a page from Ron DeSantis' book.

Ep 603 | How CPS & Foster Care Corruption is Killing Kids | Guest: Naomi Schaefer Riley Apr 20, 2022

Show notes

Today we're talking to Naomi Schaefer Riley, author of the book "No Way to Treat a Child: How the Foster Care System, Family Courts, and Racial Activists Are Wrecking Young Lives," about the corruption running rampant throughout Child Protective Services and the foster care system and the woke ideology that's causing it. While many on the Right see CPS as a heavy-handed branch of government bureaucracy, and that is often the case, Naomi points out that there is a flip side to this situation in which CPS takes no action when they really should. The reason for this? Equity. The leftist ideology that's infiltrated CPS suggests that its workers keep a family together at all costs. And while that sounds good on the surface, the reality is that this policy leads CPS to leave vulnerable children with their abusers. Naomi details exactly how leftist corruption in CPS is hurting kids and what she thinks should be done so that CPS can get back to the business of protecting kids, rather than trying to satisfy some ideology.
