Kena Expectations | Done with Deathloop | Vanguard Cheating Sep 22, 2021

Show notes

Kena release is today and I want to outline my hopes and expectations. We will be diving into Kena later today! I will also provide my Deathloop review and talk about why I'm done. Lastly Call of Duty Vanguard cheaters are currently ruining the Call of Duty beta. Kena Bridge of Spirits release trailer got a lot of hopes up from many gamers, and the Kena photo mode has really impressed folks. My experience with Deathloop ranged from fun, interested, to frustrated, and bored. I'm dumbfounded that the Deathloop reviews scored it so high, and I will tell you why. The Call of Duty Vanguard beta is apparently being overrun with cheaters and Call of Duty cheaters are ending matches early. What does this mean for Call of Duty Vanguard release? Deathloop | Loop Gets Loot Right Sep 21, 2021

Show notes

The Deathloop gameplay loop gets loot right. After just two gameplay sessions with Deathloop, I can already see how much looter shooters could learn from this game. In other gaming news... Halo MCC seasonal updates will be ramping down as 343 Industries prepares for the Halo Infinite release date. Finally, Gas Station Simulator first impressions as the game climb the steam charts. My experience with Deathloop gameplay has ranged from frustration, confusion, rage, and oddly enough, strong dedication. My lack of love for roguelike and roguelite games made me hesitant, but the Death loop loot system gets something right that I need to flesh out. Halo MCC Season 8 might be one of the last seasonal updates worth checking out with the release of Halo Infinite right around the corner. My Gas Station Simulator review will be put out during the live stream of this show as the game itself is becoming the number one steam game after just launching. Halo Infinite News | Radar Changes Are Bigger Than You Think Sep 20, 2021

Show notes

Halo Infinite News radar changes are bigger than you think. The Halo Infinite tech preview received lots of feedback, but the threat detector changes from Halo 5 are actually huge for three reasons. In other gaming news, a Splitgate forge mode will arrive before Halo Infinite forge launches. And a Dead Cells easy mode is coming and we know this means the return of the Elden Ring easy mode debate. Halo Infinite gameplay was fun during the technical test, but radar plays a massive role in the flow of gameplay and decision making, but does it belong in the game at all? The Splitgate open beta continues and the launch date is still unknown, but after raising $100 million they recently announced a Forge mode will arrive Halo Infinite gets one. Dead Cells gameplay is challenging and punishing as a roguelike indie game, and now, it will get bump inaccessibility for those looking for an easy mode. Call of Duty Vanguard | Open Beta Was a Mistake Sep 15, 2021

Show notes

Console Wars are Pointless Sep 14, 2021

Show notes

Console Wars continue with every announcement and are ultimately pointless. Right after the Sony Showcase 2021 we got into a big PS5 vs Xbox Series X comparison and debate. The KOTOR remake, God of War Ragnarok trailer, Spider Man 2 reveal, Forspoken gameplay, and a Wolverine game being made by Insomniac caused quite a stir. The Xbox Series X lineup and Game Pass games continue to offer a lot of value, but there are not a lot of next-gen titles or Xbox Series X exclusives in the future. The Playstation 5 lineup continues to look strong with huge titles and Playstation exclusive after exclusive out in the future. This causes many to think that a PS5 is a must-have. New World | PVP a double edge sword? Sep 10, 2021

Show notes

New World PVP is a double-edged sword because of all the good and bad that comes with it. The New World MMORPG gameplay loop includes a lot of options, but PVP is a huge focus and influence over the game. Will it be the games downfall or success? The success of the New World PVP gameplay will depend upon a lot of different factors. Are the Classes balanced? What about the weapons? Does the player versus player harm the PVE ecosystem and community? New World is an upcoming massively multiplayer online role-playing game by Amazon Games set to be released on September 28, 2021. The game was previously scheduled to release in May 2020 and subsequently August 2021, but was delayed to its current date. Live Service Games | Are they the new Norm? Sep 09, 2021

Show notes

AC Valhalla vs Ghost of Tsushima is a comparison that shows they are both becoming more similar. So, is live service the new norm? The recent AC Valhalla update along with the Ghost of Tsushima Rivals definitely points to that. Assassin's Creed Valhalla updates continue to show not just a commitment to the game, but the future of an Assassin's Creed live service. Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut added a whole new island, and the Legends mode received Rivals. This, to me, paints a very possible picture of Ghost turning live service in the future. Project Magnum | The Looter Shooter Dilemma Sep 08, 2021

Show notes

Project Magnum gameplay looks incredible, but it will face what I call the "looter shooter dilemma". While the Project Magnum release date is still unknown, a recent gameplay reveal showed very promising combat and visuals. Many are comparing the game to Final Fantasy and Destiny, but I see similarities to Outriders as well. Looter shooters continue to rise and fall, with most of them doing more than falling and outright failing. I want to discuss the potential for a game like Project Magnum while also examining the looter shooter challenges and graveyard of failed games this one will have to walk through. Comparison is one of the leading causes of many games struggling to get out of the gate, and this game is no different. It was previously stated that Miles Morales, Sackboy, and Horizon Forbidden West would receive free upgrades to PS5. So... has Sony lied? Ghost of Tsushima Rivals release date is today and we will be discussing why I am interested. The Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut recently launched we tried out the Ghost of Tsushima Legends as well.
