R&R The Real Candyman: DEAN CORLL Dec 27, 2025

Show notes

Whilst I take a break for Christmas, I wanted to R&R (rewind and repeat) one of the most horrific cases I covered.

Have a lovely Christmas - New Year period, and your next new episode will be in your feed one New Year's day!

Imagine trusting the local candy store owner, only to discover he’s one of the most sadistic serial killers in history. Dean Corll, the man they called 'The Candy Man,' lured innocent teens into a nightmare beyond belief. What drove him to commit some of the most chilling murders in Texas history? You won’t believe how deep this darkness goes...

Listener discretion is advised.

Towards the end of this episode, I also reference the Ruthie Mae McCoy case:

Who Killed Ashley Kline? A Pennsylvania True Crime Case Dec 22, 2025

Show notes

On a cold January morning in Pennsylvania, a jogger passes a hat factory and notices something out of place in the woods... a pink Ugg boot, half-buried in mud. A few steps later, a pristine handbag. Inside, an ID belonging to a 23-year-old woman who was last seen leaving her home the night before New Year’s Eve.

Ashley Kline was known for being kind, trusting, and reliable. She lived at home with her father, had plans for the future, and was excited for the year ahead. When she didn’t come home - and didn’t show up for a New Year’s party - those closest to her knew something was wrong.

Undercover Footage Exposed The Shocking Truth About Winterbourne View Dec 11, 2025

Show notes

When undercover cameras rolled inside Winterbourne View Hospital, the truth was worse than anyone imagined.

What was meant to be a safe, specialist unit for vulnerable adults was, in reality, a place of torment — a system-wide failure hiding in plain sight.

In this episode, we trace the shocking abuse uncovered by BBC Panorama, the promises made in its aftermath, and the uncomfortable truth more than a decade on: despite national pledges and sweeping reforms, thousands of people with learning disabilities are still living in hospital units miles from home.

This is the real story of Winterbourne View — the cruelty, the cover-ups, and the long shadow it still casts across the UK care system.
