We didn't know what to talk about, so we just kind of spit balled this one. Topics covered (generally) are what Ryer has been doing to better himself professionally, namely reading books, subscribing to magazines, and intaking knowledge from industry pros. Caleb talks about the show he just finished (West Wing) and how Aaron Sorkin uses writing so efficiently to plant seeds, pull threads, and develop characters.
In this business we have a term for a hike in to a location for a hunting trip. Generally they are 2-3 days into an elk hunt that is not going as well as we hoped and we want to get into more elk or something of that nature. I have a had a few of them on Turkey hunts too. When you take off with camera rig and a heavy pack in a general direction with an unknown destination for an unknown amount of time, those normally qualify as a death march. Ryer and Joe just got back from the Death March of all Death Marches. British Columbia Canada is a different animal and when you are there for Moutain goat, key word being "Moutain" its going to have several elements of suck involved. Ryer in particular found the suck. I told Ryer before he left this was either going to be the best trip he has ever been on or the worst. Special thanks to Bergara Rifles for letting us tag along on such an epic adventure. We are all, well me and Ryer are huge Christopher Nolan fans so of course we had to go see Oppenheimer. We got to watch it on Wed as a group and here is our review of the film. I hope you enjoy it.
Josh is a producer from NC who has been working on video production ever since college. He is one of the few guys that has been to college for video and film production. On this episode we are going to talk about what that was like as well as some of the plans we have for Josh to Freelance this fall with us.
On this episode we are going to review another film. We have done this once before but now that we have started doing it, we have had several sent over for us to watch. We are going to watch it for the first time on the podcast then we will watch it again, break it down and reiew it. If you have a film you want us to watch send it in. The old days are over and the new age of marketing is here. The old day of all of the content coming out of a cave from some agency is over. People want a face, people want someone or something to look at and trust. They can't trust a company but they can trust a face and a story. That is our plan. On this podcast we talk about that plan!
Is what we do art? To me personally that is a stretch but at other times it absolutly is. I think first we have to define what art is. On this podcast we talk about our personal worth in art and where we get inspiration for our "Art"
"The Call" has been out for over a week now and the responce has been incredible. Honestly we are blown away at all the positive feedback we are getting and it has us wanting to do more. This subject also brings up some ugly sides of the outdoor film world. We will get to that. This should be a fun one.
