Episode 120 - Kermit Gosnell: Doctor Death Nov 07, 2019

Show notes

In a filthy clinic in West Philadelphia that had been left uninspected for years, despite a sizeable drugs bust, Dr Kermit Gosnell was exploiting poor, desperate women seeking to terminate their pregnancies after the legal limit of 24 weeks.

His absolute callous recklessness makes this one of the more grisly crimes that RedHanded has delved into - given the subject matter, listener discretion is advised.

Episode 116 - Hannah Foster: Followed Oct 17, 2019

Show notes

For weeks 17 year old Hannah Foster had been experiencing an uneasy feeling; she was sure that a strange man was following her.

Terrifyingly, she wasn’t just imagining things...

And one night, when Hannah was just yards from her front door, she was abducted. 6 days later her body was found.

The stellar police investigation that followed quickly identified a suspect, but unbelievably he had already fled the UK and disappeared to India, a nation of over a billion people. Navigating racial tensions and cross nation cooperation meant that bringing Hannah’s killer to justice was not going to be an easy task.

Episode 115 - The Yuba 5 Oct 10, 2019

Show notes

In 1978, five men piled into a car after a local basketball game, they stopped at a shop to pick up some snacks and then they vanished. The next day their car was found on a mountain road, without a scratch, half a tank of petrol and in perfect running order. Why would the men have left the car and entered the freezing wilderness?

It wasn’t until the summer that four of the men were found, well at least their bodies were...but the discoveries only deepened the mystery; one of the men was even found in a trailer, surrounded by food - but had seemingly starved to death.

To this day Gary Mathias, man number five, remains missing - leaving us asking the question what happened to the Yuba 5?

Episode 114 - “Bishop” Gary Heidnik: The Real-Life Buffalo Bill Oct 03, 2019

Show notes

Between 1986 and 1987 in Pennsylvania, self-appointed “Bishop” Gary Heidnik abducted six women and held them prisoner in a pit that he’d dug into the floor of his basement. The brutal torture that these women suffered at Heidnik’s hands is incomprehensible - especially when you consider that the entire time Heidnik was running his own church just meters above where these women were trapped.
