    Red Eye Radio – Cumulus Podcast Network

Red Eye Radio is the successor to Midnight Trucking Radio Network, a program whose roots go back 40 years. Each night the hosts of Red Eye Radio review the headlines, cover the issues that matter and keep listeners tuned-in with insight and perspective. Also on the agenda popular culture, family issues and detailed national weather forecasts.

    In part two of Red Eye Radio with Gary McNamara and Eric Harley, in defiance of President Trump's tax bill, Elon Musk announces that he has formed the "America Party" to give you back your freedom. The President respond's by saying "he's completely off the rails". Musk wants to focus on winning just a few house and district seats over the next 12 months and may later consider a candidate to represent the so called third party. President Trump posting on Truth Social that Musk is angry over his imposed restrictions on electric vehicles among other things.

    Dan Mandis (WTN-Nashville) fills in for Gary and Eric. House Speaker Mike Johnson expects the Big Beautiful Bill to pass early Thursday morning. Overnight as Red Eye began, it seemed President Trump's Big Beautiful Bill was all but dead in the House with unexpected opposition by 5 Republicans and 8 no votes/ Tennessee Congressman Scott Desjarlais joined the show to talk about the stalled bill and whether or not he thought it will eventually pass / Reaction from Newt Gingrich and Congressman Jim Jordan / As early Thursday morning progressed, Trump spoke to the Repubican holdouts by phone and House Speaker Johnson noted they now had the votes to pass the bill / And of course, Senate Democrats repeated the same yawn inducing hyperbole on the dangers of the bill.

    06-30-25 Part One - The Big Bill Gains Traction Jun 30, 2025

    In part one of Red Eye Radio with Gary McNamara and Eric Harley, the guys are on vacation this week and Marconi award winner Dan Mandis fills in. We begin with the horrific ordeal from Idaho where a man started a fire and the opened fire on the responding firefighters, killing two Firefighters and wounding 11 others including a firefighter who is clinging to life. Also President Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill" passed the first stage of approval as Republican senators voted 51-49 to now send the bill back to the House for final approval before landing on the President's desk by a July 4th deadline. After passage Chuck Shumer demanded the entire 960 page bill be read aloud on the Senate floor taking hours overnight and well into the day Sunday. Caller Chris challenges Dan on the reading of the bill and other issues democrats would oppose about the bill, Medicaid cuts seem to be the key issue that most people are concerned about. Also discussion about the two key democrats that voted against the bill.. Tom Thune and Rand Paul, things may be getting ugly again in Iran as satellite photos reveal ongoing activity around the bomb sites, the great week of progress that President Trump has enjoyed especially the Supreme Court victories on Friday, a polling of your favorite person in the Trump administration (besides the President) and Zohran Mamdani and his city owned grocery stores and how his mayoral candidacy serves as a threat to the non-muslim community. Also Mandami's rap video, the migrant truck drivers that are causing deadly accidents and much more.
