Jon Fitzgerald Aug 07, 2024

Show notes

If you ever wondered what REALLY goes on at big talent agencies and on the sets of your favorite movies, if you wonder if making it in entertainment is actually about who you know, if those nightmares about nasty certain studio execs are true, you're curious what on earth a key grip does, you want to hear stories about Joe Pesci, Steven Spielberg, Steven Seagal and more, this is for you. And if you like My Cousin Vinny, well, just wait!

Jon Fitzgerald is a widely respected person in the independent film industry. He is a film festival guru -- he co-created the Slamdance Film Festival, reinvigorated and ran the prestigious AFI Film Festival, and is an in-demand consultant for filmmakers and film festivals. He teaches master classes on topics like filmmaking for change and movie marketing.

Jon has also produced award-winning documentaries and founded Ca use Pictures, a company that helps filmmakers create and distribute their films about socially relevant stories.

So, he knows what's up. And you're about to, as well. I sat down with Jon recently in his office in LA so we can give you a close-up, behind-the-scenes look at the filmmaking industry. Let's go!

Kim Fields returns Jun 05, 2024

Show notes

Kim Fields (The Upshaws, Living Single, The Facts of Life) and I reconnect after a few years and get right down to powerful and meaningful insights on everything from Kim's detail-oriented personality and her incredible mission to make something amazing of her life (and oh wow, did she!) to why breathing, acknowledgment and light are so important.

Get your FREE 2-week trial with Aura: https://aura.com/reallyfamous

You'll hear about entrepreneurship endeavors, coffee, Kim's Refresh wellness retreats, broadcasting and internship, Kim's multi-hyphenate work on The Upshaws (Netflix).

We talk about our mutual friend Todd Bridges and a powerful emotional reaction Kim had to the recent Diff'rent Strokes reunion. Kim opens up about not wanting to be a "has been, child star statistic" and what she's still working on in her personal life.

You'll hear thoughts on parenting and balance and the high wire act so many of us do.

Plus I analyze Kim a bit at times. Because, you know, I'm a therapist and that's how I roll. And I'm pretty sure it's a good thing here.

Tim Daly is back! Mar 20, 2024

Show notes

When Tim Daly and I sit down at his kitchen table for our 6th Really Famous talk, we get philosophical - and Tim says some things he probably shouldn't (his words, not mine!). Of course we talk Madam Secretary, Wings, how handsome Tim is, his status with co-star and life partner Téa Leoni, etc. But we also get into deep (and shallow) thoughts, about aging, fear, death, intimacy and more.

You'll feel like you're right there with us, sitting at the table with Tim's dog, Goose, coming and going, weaving from topic to topic and analyzing our individual takes on life.

Enjoy.
