She explains how reading to her child during that challenging time became a helpful coping mechanism. It is believed that postpartum depression effects one in ten women in the United States. Robyn tells us some of the ways friends and family can provide support to new moms, such as offering specific help, asking about their well-being, and understanding the challenges they may face.
