Podcast Spec. Ed. 26:rise set twilight on Rare Frequency 08/07/08 Aug 26, 2008
    Show notes

On August 7, 2008 Michael Bullock and Linda Aubry Bullock (a.k.a. rise set twilight) performed two separate pieces on Rare Frequency both using location recordings and the techniques of musique concretè. Unfortunately, the CD recorder at the station failed that evening, but Mike and Linda kindly provided recordings of their pieces, which are what you’ll hear on this podcast. To find out more about rise set twilight, you can read my recent interview with them.

Podcast Spec. Ed. 25:Keith Fullerton Whitman Live on Rare Frequency 07/03/08 Jul 06, 2008
    Show notes

Though he’s been my guest twice in the past to select records and chit chat during WZBC fundraisers, Keith Fullerton Whitman’s July 3rd appearance marked his live debut on RF. For whatever reason, the stars aligned and the recording came out particularly well. Perhaps the gods were paying Keith back for introducing me to the wonders of Turkish psych some years back. Who knows? In any case, to find out more about the process behind KFW’s music, check out my interview with him.

On June 19, 2008, local tape maestro and Intransitive Recordings head honcho, Howard Stelzer, performed a live set in the WZBC FM studio. You can read a short piece by Howie giving you a run-down of his current cassette faves in the “Featured” section of the site. Though Howie has been my guest on the program in the past (playing records and talking Intransitive) this was his live performance on the program.
