    Spawned from the minds of Brenton Harris and Mike Speakman is an inspirational/entertainment podcast, RADULTS.The podcast showcases people who have said “fuck that” to the idea that growing up and becoming an adult meant giving up on their dreams. Guests include musicians, authors, comic creators, tattooists, artists, screenwriters just to name a few. These guests maintain the passion of their youth, while surviving as an adult (some even have kids and houses, even a mortgage!).

    Join Radults host Brenton as he chats with Dennis Lyxzen, front-man for the legendary Swedish hardcore band Refused.

    One of the most unique and influential bands of the modern era, Refused have had an enormous influence on the shape of modern punk and hardcore, thanks in large part to their iconic album The Shape of Punk to Come.

    As the voice and most instantly recognizable member of Refused, Dennis has become an icon in the world of punk and hardcore and it was a genuine thrill for Brenton get the chance to spend fifteen minutes talking to him in the lead up to the release of Refused's new album War Music.     Episode 22 of the Radults podcast features record producer, audio engineer and mixing engineer, Catherine J Marks. Catherine has over 10 years of experience working in studios worldwide. Her production, mixing and engineering credits include Wolf Alice, Manchester Orchestra, St. Vincent, Foals, PJ Harvey, Frank Carter and The Rattlesnakes, Frank Turner, Kanye West, Ian Brown, MIA, Placebo and The Killers to name a few. Having worked alongside legendary producers, Alan Moulder and Flood, Catherine has gone on to achieve considerable acclaim as a producer in her own right, including winning the coveted MPG Producer of the Year Award in 2018. Now based in London, native Melbournian Catherine was kind enough to spend an hour of her time during a recent trip home, to talk us through her career, providing invaluable insight into how she managed to turn her interest in music into her career in music production and the challenges that she faced in the process of doing so, passing on some priceless advice for people looking to become producers in the process.     Over the past decade La Dispute has been responsible for some of the most uncompromising, experimental music and have carved a reputation as one of post-hardcore’s most singular voices. As the literal voice of La Dispute, and the man behind the bands unique and in-depth lyrical approach, Jordan plays a massive part in the soundscape, identity and performance of La Dispute. A man responsible for penning lyrics that are inked into thousands of bodies worldwide, Jordan is refreshingly aware of the responsibility that being in a position of such visibility comes with and he and the rest of La Dispute work tirelessly with charitable organisations and show organizers to ensure that La Dispute shows are a safe environment, that also offer an opportunity to give back to the community that have given so much to them.     Radults - Episode 20: Ryan Chamley Aug 05, 2019

    Episode 20 of Radults finds Brenton and Mike in the company of writer, producer and part owner of Robot Army Productions, Ryan Chamley.

    Ryan is best known for the online sensation “Rostered On”, which after notching up over 250 millions views online, was acquired by Netflix in 2018, making "Rostered On" the first independent long form web series in Australian history to achieve that honour. Following the success of the first season of "Rostered On" 7 Mate commissioned a second series, earning "Rostered On" a piece of Australian television history as the first ever scripted comedy commissioned by the network. Ryan’s second title “Jeremy the Dud” won fans worldwide for its insight into disability. The trailer instantly went viral racking up millions of views, also gaining the interest of TV networks and production companies all over the world it won best film at the “Flicks for Change film Festival in LA, and the Melbourne Independent Film Festival. Jeremy the Dud is currently being developed into a TV series! Ryan is quite clearly an absolute Radult (and with four kids at home, a Dadult too) and his episode is one of the most insightful, inspiring and hilarious yet, making it the perfect way to finish off season 2. Resist is a retail store, record label, touring company, management and booking agency that specialises in hardcore and punk music. As the driving force of Resist, Graham has played an enormous part in the rise and rise of Australian hardcore and punk, facilitating the release of many of the genres biggest and most influential records, and a lot of cult hits as well. Through Resist Graham has worked with the likes of Australian scene luminaries Mindsnare, metalcore monoliths Parkway Drive, rising stars Polaris and pretty much everyone in-between, as well as been responsible for tours and releases by many of the worlds best punk rock acts. Graham is an absolute Radult and we had a blastbeat discussing the circle pit of life with him.     Episode 17 of Radults finds Brenton and Mike chatting with Finnish illustrator/comic book artist JP Ahonen, the man behind much-loved titles Villimpi Pohjola and Belzebubs and one of the humans partly responsible for the brilliant graphic novel Sing No Evil (Perkeros). JP is an absolute Radult with a unique illustrative style, who has found a way to turn his mutual love of black metal and comic books into a career incorporating both. JP talks us through his own origin story including his formative influences, the comic book culture in Finland, the role that black metal played in shaping his life and illustrative style, how his various projects came to be, how he managed to find his niche and continue to progress artistically and personally while catering to his audience expectations, managing the demands of different projects, his tips for being a Radult and is a willing participant in the most metal Rad Break yet.
