    Show notes

One of the biggest entertainment releases this year wasn't a TV show or a movie but a game, namely The Last Of Us Part 2. In this very, very spoiler-filled podcast, Newsbeat's very own gaming correspondent and friend of the podcast Steffan Powell joins Ali to dig into the incredibly emotional Naughty Dog game. Again, expect spoilers - as well as two know-it-all nerds (in a good way) trying to assess a 24-hour plus game. Wish us luck...

    Show notes

Hamilton - everyone's favourite envelope-pushing hip-hop about the incredible life of one of America's founding fathers - is coming to your TV screen. You've been waiting forever and a day to be in with a chance of getting a ticket to see it live and blow me down, now Disney Plus are dropping the original cast recording on us. Incredible scenes. Here, Ali speaks to two of the men behind it all, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Thomas Kail, only there's a snag: he hasn't seen the show yet. Hmm. Time to call in the big guns and 'outsource' some of the questions...

Simon Pegg Interview Special: Lost Transmissions Jun 27, 2020

Jodie Comer Interview Special Jun 20, 2020
    Show notes

Jodie Comer is perhaps best known for her work as Villanelle in the BBC Three series Killing Eve, but her latest appearance your TV screens won't be as a psychopathic assassin but as a star of the much-loved and greatly respected Alan Bennett monologue series Talking Heads, first recorded in the late '80s, with a second series airing in the '90s. Here, in this Screen Time interview special, Comer talks about the practicalities of shooting the 21st century remake in the time of Covid-19, the legacy of Bennett's work and what 'comfort food films' she's been watching during lockdown.

Judd Apatow Interview Special: The King Of Staten Island Jun 12, 2020
    Show notes

Judd Apatow has directed, produced and/or written more successful comedy films than you've got podcast subscriptions. Possibly, I should say, depends on how much you love listening to podcasts. It wasn't the best comparison to be honest. But anyway! He's the director of Knocked Up, Funny People, Trainwreck and now The King Of Staten Island, a comedy drama partly based on the life of Saturday Night Live veteran Pete Davidson, and he's also our special guest on the podcast today. He talks about how he put together the movie, what makes him laugh these days and even tells Ali a little bit about how he contributed to Happy Gilmore.
