    Show notes

    (00:00-24:01) – Query & Company opens on a Thursday with Derek Schultz filling in for Jake Query and producer Eddie Garrison highlighting the things that will be discussed throughout the course of the show. Derek shares some thoughts on the Myles Turner situation after playing what Rick Carlisle said on the Greenlight podcast yesterday.

    (24:01-45:16) – Radio voice of the Indianapolis Colts, Matt Taylor, joins Derek Schultz on Query & Company to share what he is hopeful about heading into training camp, admits that he really likes the depth in the corner back room, believes that the tight end position will get squeezed because of the depth in other position groups, and highlights the upcoming training camp schedule.

    (45:16-48:40) – The first hour of the program concludes with Derek admitting a guilty pleasure and highlighting some of the top sports storylines.

    (48:40-1:06:00) – Mike DeCourcy from The Sporting News, Big Ten Network, and FOX Sports joins the program with Derek Schultz to explain why he is not on board with the NCAA expanding the tournament to whatever number they settle on, explains what he wants to see from IU in year number one with Darian DeVries, and provides one concern that he has about Purdue heading into a season where they might be the favorite to win the NCAA Tournament.

    Show notes

    (00:00-28:22) – Query & Company opens on a Tuesday with Jake Query and producer Eddie Garrison discussing the F1 movie because Jake went and saw it last night with his dad and compares it to a movie that was about the Indianapolis 500 years ago. Also, Jake touches on some of the comments from Kevin Pritchard yesterday about Myles Turner’s departure and Tyrese Haliburton’s achilles surgery.

    (28:22-36:26) – As the start of the NFL season nears, Jake shares the epiphany that he had last night about the Indianapolis Colts. He asks Eddie to evaluate his fear about the Colts and has him list a team or two in the MLB that fits a description Jake laid out.

    (36:26-43:56) – The first hour of the program concludes with Jake and Eddie discussing four other NFL teams that fall into the same boat as the Indianapolis Colts in the last 8-10 years.

    (43:56-1:06:47) – The one o’clock hour of the show with Jake Query and producer Eddie Garrison starts with the two of them discussing the Fan Invitational Golf outing and providing an update on their baseball beer bet with listener Chad. Jake shifts the conversation back to Myles Turner and identifying all the different things that he has endured during his career with the Pacers.

They discuss the MLB All-Star Game rosters, Pacers acquiring Jay Huff over the weekend, and a comment about Caitlin Clark by an ESPN analyst that is a fascinating discussion.

    Evaluating Pacers Center Options + Company Camp Caravan Trip Continues! Tony East, JP Shadrick, and Tim Benz Join! Jul 03, 2025

Dave Calabro, formerly with WTHR, joins Jake Query in sharing stories about Don Hein following the announcement of his passing earlier today and what he learned from Hein as being the guy who was brought in to replace Hein when he retired. Additionally, Calabro comments on the passing of Dick Mittman.

    (26:09-39:54) – JP Shadrick from Jaguars.com is the next company camp caravan stop for Query & Company. Jake asks JP about the transition for Head Coach Liam Coan so far, where Trevor Lawrence is at mentally as he tries to learn his third different offense in his career, believes that Jacksonville will let Travis Hunter play both offense and defense, and shares what the Jaguars fans think of the Indianapolis Colts.

    (39:54-53:40) – The first hour of the program concludes with Jake and Eddie discussing the likelihood that the Indiana Pacers are going to bring back some collection of Isaiah Jackson, Thomas Bryant, and James Wiseman to go with Tony Bradley next season.

Now that immediate reaction has settled, Jake shares what he believes happened with the Pacers in the negotiation process.

    (25:58-34:38) – There have been a lot of opinions from the national media on how the Pacers handled the Myles Turner free agency, Jake highlights what Brian Windhorst, Tim MacMahon, and Tim Bontemps said on the Hoop Collective Podcast.

    (34:38-42:30) – The first hour of the program concludes with Jake having Eddie recap last night’s WNBA Commissioner’s Cup Championship game with the Indiana Fever defeating the Minnesota Lynx.
