Horror All-Nighters Oct 14, 2019

Show notes

On this very very special episode of the show, Elric and Brian are joined by Patrick Bromley from F This Movie (the podcast and the website) to each program their own Horror All-Night show (very much inspired by the All-Nighters done by The New Beverly in October). They each chose six films with an eye on the audience experience overall and how the group of movies plays together as a whole. With any luck, listeners may find some horror recommendations for their own October viewing within! Enjoy!

New Beverly Calendar: August, 2019 Aug 09, 2019

Show notes

Since the New Beverly is mostly playing ONCE UPON A TIME... IN HOLLYWOOD this month, Elric, Brian and Phil took this opportunity to talk to the film's Editor Fred Raskin about the movie. If you're unfamiliar with Fred's work, he's edited other films for Tarantino such as DJANGO UNCHAINED and THE HATEFUL EIGHT as well as both GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY films and three consecutive FAST AND FURIOUS movies starting with TOKYO DRIFT. On top of that, he also cut BONE TOMAHAWK and THE HOUSE WITH A CLOCK IN ITS WALLS! So Fred is the main guest interview for most of this episode and in the last section, all the matinees and kiddie shows playing at the theater in August are discussed. Be warned though, ONCE UPON A TIME...IN HOLLYWOOD is covered in great detail on this episode with major spoilers throughout, so please be aware of that before listening! Enjoy!

Elric and Brian are joined this episode by one of their dream guests - Director Joe Dante - to talk about a topic that is near and dear to him: Westerns. The focus is mostly on Pre-WILD BUNCH westerns, but the discussion strays outside of that as well. Joe definitely pulls out some deep cuts! Enjoy!
