Season 2: Episode 6 - Did I just bomb my first speaking gig? Jul 01, 2021

Show notes

I just got back from a live interview at a church in Anaheim California. My guy Raymond Gregory was speaking on James 2 and favoritism and wanted to bring me to chat about the issue of celebrity and being controlled by culture in modern church. Having never done this before, I was admittedly nervous...the audio from the conversation is in the episode. Listen!

Season 2: Episode 5 - Registered Flex Offenders Jun 16, 2021

Show notes

On today's episode, you get a sneak peak at one the most popular chapters of my book, titled "Registered Flex Offenders." The chapter wrestles with the idea that our social media posts and curated image might actually cause others to envy our lives leading to anxiety and depression. As Christians, should we care about that? Should we really be controlled by the opinions and interpretations of others? That's what we get into in this chapter! Take a listen and let me know what you think!

Season 2: Episode 3 - Brian W. Foster May 19, 2021

Show notes

Brian W. Foster is a musician, writer and host of the incredibly popular Twitch show "Talks Machina," a recap show for another show called "Critical Role" where a bunch of voice actors film themselves playing Dungeons and Dragons. STICK WITH ME HERE
The show has garnered a huge following and Brian has been at the center of it. He also has a long history of participating in televangelist rallies like Benny Hinn and others as well as used to lead worship at Mosaic in LA.
This was my first attempt at streaming the conversation on Twitch, so if you want the raw convo, check it out and follow me here. All in all it was a fun, insightful conversation and I think you'll enjoy a fresh perspective.
There was some language, so please be aware if you're listening with children.

Season 2: Episode 2 - J Biebs collab imminent based off what he just told GQ... Apr 21, 2021

Show notes

I recorded this episode on Friday 4/16 because we just found out we're headed to the hospital early to deliver this new Kirby baby. Wish us luck!
Today's episode was inspired by Justin Bieber's newest GQ article, where he talks about certain pastors putting themselves on a pedestal. I had a few other things to add to that, so take a listen!
Here is the article in question

In today's episode, we're going back in time to 2019 for one of my favorite episodes of the PnS Pod!
In this episode, I had a great conversation with Jonathan "JP" Pokluda. He's the senior pastor of Harris Creek Bible Church in Waco Texas and used to lead one of the largest young adult ministries in the country called, "The Porch."
