    Artist Spotlight - Endz | @endzlgc Sep 21, 2017
    Show notes

Welcome to another edition of PoPolitickin. In this episode, we politick with Southern California hip hop artist Endz.
Beyond better judgement, Orange, CA is the unlikely home for on-the-rise emcee, Endz (Alan Navarro). Endz’ versatility and storytelling abilities recreate moments of life that enamor the audiences through harmonious melodies and gripping lyrics. His armory of styles has substantially grown throughout the years.
Endz started writing lyrics in his adolescent years while living with his single mother, sleeping on the couch. His artistry continued to flourish as his free-styling abilities grew. In 2012. Endz founded Locally Grown Collective, home of LGCLTV (Publishing), LocGrwn (LifeStyle), 4th N Co (Production), and Stickies (Creative Application Agency). Orange County received the collective effort of Locally Grown led by Endz with enthusiasm.
Since day one, Endz has been hands on with his path, conquering every opportunity presented to him. He collectively curated independent tours and showcases for leading independent artists in Southern California. While putting Orange County on the map, he has managed to take his music around several states, including out of the country. Endz is known to move the crowd from the humble stages of intimate venues to sold out crowds alongside artists to the liking of Curren$y, Talib kweli, Ab-Soul, Action Bronson, and Devin the Dude. His stage presence captivates fans as soon as he locks the mic in his hands.
Endz continues to inspire those around him with every release, from his early project Half N Half to his most recent publication, Supply N Demand. Each body of work sparks the spirit of the entrepreneur and rejoices in hustler anthems. Today, Endz continues to consciously create music that pushes the independent culture forward and upward, while asking his audience to grow with him.

    Show notes

Welcome to another edition of PoPolitickin. In this episode, we politick with Seattle-based hip-hop artist, performer, and producer Nick Weaver.
Nick started in his early teen years, making mixtapes in the northwest while being raised on everything from Tchaikovsky to The Cure. As he grows and evolves as an artist, his interest in all types of music continues to guide his vision. When asked about his influences, Weaver cites long time favorite acts such as LCD Soundsystem, Hot Chip, Helios, and Mogwai, as well as hip-hop legends like Nas, Royce Da 5'9", Mobb Deep, and Eminem. Seeing the word "genre" as just a self-imposed boundary, Weaver treats each project as a way to further evolve his own art, one inspiration at a time.

    Artist Spotlight - Ms Proper | @MsProper Sep 13, 2017
    Show notes

Welcome to another edition of PoPolitickin. In this episode, we politick with recording artist and songwriter Ms. Proper.
Ms Proper began writing at the age of eight under the influence of her poetic mother. After years of transforming her craft and exploring the recording process it wasn't until 2005 that she began to take her career as a musician more seriously. With her heart into music, she created So Proper Entertainment and employed a roster of other talented artists in the Virginia area to whom she executive produced albums for. However, her love for music broadened once listeners requested that she release her own compilation of songs for them to enjoy, which birthed her debut mixtape, Addicted To The Game.
In 2007, Ms Proper was selected to perform in her first show at the Byrd Theatre in Richmond, Virginia. It was at that time that she knew how much she truly loved being an artist herself. Since then Ms Proper has released three projects, numerous singles, performed in many venues along the East Coast and South, and also landed a performance on one of BET's most memorable shows, 106 & Park.

    Artist Spotlight - Corina Corina | @getcorinacorina Sep 11, 2017
    Show notes

Welcome to another edition of PoPolitickin. In this episode, we politick with NYC/Oakland emo soul vocalist Corina Corina.
Corina Corina was born in Oakland, CA and is the eldest child of political activists. Named after a classic Blues song, it seems her career path in music was set early on. Now with roots in New York City and the San Francisco Bay Area, Corina Corina brings a fresh and seamless synergy between 90s-style r&b, dark pop, lyrically driven hip hop and the blues and soul music she grew up on.
Known by many as one of the hardest working women in the indie music scene, she's spent years touring extensively through the USA and has performed in multiple showcases at South by Southwest in Austin and North by Northwest in Toronto.
In early 2017, Corina Corina released a mixtape tribute to Run the Jewels entitled "Run the Blues" and is putting the final touches on her third full length LP, “Hangover Music.” The album written and produced entirely by herself and Willie Green and is a reflective and hard honest look at her relationship with alcohol and her version of adulthood. Through a range of styles and moods, she has created her strongest work yet.

    Artist Spotlight - Free5ive | @Free5ive Sep 08, 2017

Welcome to another edition of PoPolitickin. In this episode, we politick with Portland, Oregon hip hop artist Free5ive.
Growing up in inner city Portland, Free5ive's passion for music started at an early age. He developed a love for many genres of music including hip hop, R&B , funk, classic rock, and country music. Although, while growing up his first love was basketball, he began to use music to express himself as he battled the impoverished gang infested environment that surrounded him. During adolescence 5ive dealt with legal issues and eventually began writing raps to help deal with the anger he felt towards the world. By age 17, 5ive had already recorded numerous remixes to industry classics and a began to record a catalog of original tracks, with heavy influences from Tupac, 50 cent and Lil Wayne.
Fast forward six years and a new generation of creatives talents are emerging out of Portland. 5ive now 23, credits his success and perfection of his craft to close friend, Warner Brother's recording artist and Portland's own TYuS (who appears on Free5ive's newly released single "Can't Trust"). Free5ive is motivated to show the world that he's ready for his turn in the light.. He boast "The time is now, I've spent long enough wondering what if!"
