In this episode of PoPolitickin, we politick with TWNTY SVN.
TWNTY SVN is a rap artist based in Atlanta, Georgia. His music is particularly distinctive because of the grittier, textural tones that fuel his imaginative creativity. Born Jesse Mays, TWNTY SVN was active with another stage name earlier, but he finally refined his sound and identity, kickstarting a brand new musical journey! Formerly known as Kidd Steeze, TWNTY SVN achieved many milestones since the start of his career. He appeared at world-famous events such as SXSW, as well as collaborating with a wide range of acclaimed artists and industry insiders alike. In 2017, he even teamed up with fellow artist Famous Dex to release a soaring new single, “Woah.” This was one of the first tracks for the artist to truly make waves, attracting the attention of the listener and a wider audience at large. This was only the beginning of a fantastic career in music, with one successful single after another, allowing the artist to eventually grow into the project that will be known as TWNTY SVN.
With a new moniker, this gifted rapper also took the opportunity to refine his sound, bringing his lyrics to new depths, and highlighting his ability to combine modern hip-hop, with golden age influences. As a true perfectionist TWNTY SVN always goes a long way to make sure that his tracks are tailored to perfection, every time he posts something new. His sound blurs the lines between punchy rhythms, and warm melodies, with a one-of-a-kind attitude.

In this episode of PoPolitickin, we politick with John Blu.
John Blu makes contemporary R&B records for clubs, the streets, and bedrooms. A native of Bellwood, Illinois, a suburb directly west of Chicago, the self-nicknamed "R&B bully" (full last name: Bluford) got into music as a youngster. He first played piano, then drums, prior to getting into production, writing, rapping, and eventually singing, entirely self-taught. Just into his teens, Blu made his recorded debut with Reverse Psychology, and followed it up a couple years later with Undiscovered. Signing with the independent label AAU primed him for a short-term deal with major-label Jive. Across 2010 and 2011, Blu placed the Jive-issued singles "In Love wit Yo Booty" and "Cologne" (the latter featuring Twista and Gucci Mane) on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Blu's third proper album, Sacrifice Before Success, was issued independently in 2017. During the years between full-lengths, Blu released non-album singles and racked up numerous guest appearances.

Shilan has inspired thousands all over the world from Japan's CC Lemon Hall to the L'Arsenal in Metz, France and she is no stranger to the venues of the United States. "Dynamic, original, and ground-breaking” have been uttered and written to celebrate the phenomenon that is Shilan. In addition to being a singer, Shilan is a producer, songwriter, and a musician. As an artist, she has established and grown a significant audience online, domestically, and internationally. At age 3, Shilan began singing in her hometown of New Albany, IN, just north of Louisville, KY. Due to the rich blend of Southern and Midwestern outlooks on music, the church, and community, Shilan engendered a rich mettle of vocal skills and range that later would catch the attention of Billboard and Pop star Bebe Rexha.

While some fans describe Kai’s music as pop or R&B, she calls it “chameleon funk” because “none of my songs sound like each other, even when they are in the same genre.” The artist, whose debut single was called “First Of All,” has been featured on Detroit’s FOX 2 News, Hot 107.5Underground Summer Jamz and My TV20, The Mother Love Show on LA Talk Radio, and more. Currently, she’s partnered with Parallel Sound Studios, which has collaborated on her other popular releases like “Truth Hurts,” “Pinky Promise,” and “Playa 2.” Kai has also released music videos via partnerships with HBkwan, Wesley Snipes, and GM Entertainment. Next, she plans to work with Atlanta’s Dollah Jones, who has shot with fellow Detroit natives, The Clark Sisters. “When I hop on stage,” Kai says, “it’s a reminder that I come from a place with soul and the roots of amazing creative and talented artists like myself.” Citing Beyoncé, Megan Thee Stallion, Kehlani, H.E.R., Cardi B, and Ella Mai as her inspirations, Kai Rose intends to make “huge ripples” in the music industry.

In this episode of PoPolitickin, we politick with Iamkeynotes.
The musical prodigy, Key Notes, is known for his artistic creativity and talent . Born Keyon Dunston, in Portsmouth VA, Notes has spent most of his life enjoying music and dance. At the age of 12 , he began to home in on his artistic abilities, starting with freestyle rap . Notes began writing his own rap music, and by the age of 16 , he was adding dance into the mix . After mastering pop locking and krumping, Notes was able to develop his own creative rhythm which features many of the styles we are familiar with today . Dancing live for family and friends, Notes continues to share his talents by entertaining at functions and other family get -to -gathers.
Key Notes has always been known for his silly nature, and ability to make other people laugh. Cracking jokes and singing in funny voices allowed those around him to see that he possessed a hidden talent for singing . But, it wasn’t until hearing Chris Brown’s ‘Take You Down’ in 2007 that Notes realized this himself, discovered his own passion to sing, and decided to pursue music on a much larger scale. He began nurturing this hidden talent by studying other music and receiving distant mentor -ship and influence from artists such as Chris Brown, R. Kelly, Trey Songz, Michael Jackson, and many others.
