The strongest emerging defense theme is broader than simply “postpartum psychosis”: Lindsay Clancy repeatedly sought psychiatric help, her condition deteriorated while under treatment, multiple medications were tried or changed, bipolar disorder was considered but not diagnosed, and the defense will argue that the medical system failed to recognize the illness that ultimately destroyed her ability to appreciate or control her conduct
