A deep dive into Faith No More's third studio album, and Patton's first with the band - The Real Thing.
Released 20 June, 1989 and celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, The Real Thing is the album that catapulted Faith No More into the mainstream. With Chuck Mosley's destructive behaviour leading to his dismissal from the band, Gould, Bottum, Martin and Bordin forged ahead. The songs were written, and in a short space of time Mike Patton rose to the challenge of writing, recording and performing in a manner that appealed to the critical MTV audience, leaving us with what is arguably the most definitive sounding Faith No More album.
Mike and Adrian discuss the album in length, talk about Faith No More news and other new music. How long does the battery last in Adrian's microphone? Three hours. Now we know.
