    Pod Save The King

New era, new name: Welcome to Pod Save The King, the award-winning Royal podcast from the Daily Mirror.

The Royal family is finding its way in a new era. Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, King Charles III began his reign alongside Camilla, The Queen Consort. William and Kate became Prince and Princess of Wales. As the family changes, rifts remain with Harry and Meghan across the Atlantic and Prince Andrew is still in the aftermath of the Newsnight interview. There is joy too, as Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis grow up both in and out of the public eye, and the Tindalls, Beatrice and Eugenie find their own ways.

Expect behind the scenes details, fashion, travel, causes, politics and society, plus interviews with people who can provide a particular insight into your favourite Royals, their work and their place in Britain today.

“Lively discussions with a wide-ranging appeal. Refreshingly informal, totally unstuffy and a thoroughly modern take on all things royal. And it’s funny too.” – the Press Awards Judges, who named Pod Save The King Lifestyle Podcast of the Year.

Your regular companions are Royal Editor Russell Myers and Deputy Royal Editor Jennifer Newton. You can join the conversation about the podcast on Instagram and Twitter for a chance to hear your comments on the show, and follow @MirrorRoyal or subscribe to our Royal Newsletter for all the latest.

Princess Charlotte starts school - and the royal summer break is over Sep 12, 2019
    Show notes

You know summer is over when those back to school pictures show up on your Facebook - and this year one of the new students was Princess Charlotte.
She joins big brother George at Thomas's Battersea, with their parents holding their hands on that all important first day (all immaculately turned out of course).
The grown up royals are heading back to work too, after a summer break where the peace got interrupted by a row over Harry and Meghan using private jets, Prince Andrew's links with a pervert and politicians visiting Balmoral to ask the Queen to suspend parliament.
And that means it's back to school for us too, with host Ann Gripper joined by show regulars Russell Myers, Amber Graafland and Zoe Forsey for the first episode of Season 3.
They look ahead to Meghan's return to work with her capsule collection for Smartworks and the Sussexes' Africa tour, as well as reflecting on the first royal engagements of the new season. For information regarding your data privacy, visit acast.com/privacy

They talk key looks, how many pairs of sunglasses a girl needs (with very different answers) and the royal trends we can expect to see transferring to the high street.
Plus they talk about Prince George's VERY cute sixth birthday photos. For information regarding your data privacy, visit acast.com/privacy

Archie's private christening, challenging royal tours and Prince William's big LGBT+ visit Jul 04, 2019
    Show notes

Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor will be christened in the Queen's chapel at Windsor Castle this weekend - but the heightened privacy around the ceremony has sparked some debate.
One thing we do know is Meghan's family won't be there, as the family rift remains and the Duchess of Sussex seeks only positive role models for her son.
Pod Save The Queen host Ann Gripper is joined by royal editor Russell Myers and lifestyle editor Zoe Forsey to discuss the christening plans, a busy week of royal visits, news of upcoming royal tours to Africa for the Sussexes and Pakistan for William and Kate, and Mike and Zara Tindall's affectionate appearance on Top Gear.
They also catch up on William's historic visit to Albert Kennedy Trust, an LGBT homeless charity, and reflect on how much has changed for Meghan in a very short space of time. For information regarding your data privacy, visit acast.com/privacy

Zoe Forsey steps into the host chair to chat with Royal Editor Russell Myer to explain exactly what all the figures from the Sovereign Grant actually mean, including how much the renovation work at Frogmore Cottage has cost the taxpayer and why we didn't get any numbers from Princess Eugenie's wedding.
