    PLAY RETRO 31: Beavis and Butt-Head Do 90s Gaming Aug 09, 2022

    Three tie-in video games based on the animated television series of the same name that were released by Viacom New Media in 1994 for the Super NES, Genesis/Mega Drive and Game Gear. The three versions differ from each other, sharing only the basic premise involving the titular characters searching for tickets to a Gwar concert. The games were advertised as featuring music by the band. A fourth version was later released for the Game Boy by GT Interactive Software in 1998 without the Gwar tie-in.


    PLAY RETRO 30: The Strike Series Aug 02, 2022

    Strike is a series of video games created by Mike Posehn, John Patrick Manley and Tony Barnes released between 1991 and 1997 by Electronic Arts for a number of video game systems. The games are multi-directional shooters viewed from an overhead or top-down perspective. The first three games in the series were 2D and used isometric sprites to give the illusion of 3D depth since real-time 3D polygon rendering wasn't possible at the time.

    Kirby is the main protagonist of Nintendo's Kirby series of video games. He made his debut appearance in 1992, starring in Kirby's Dream Land. The series has been running for three decades, and over thirty titles have been released under Kirby's name, most of which are developed by HAL Laboratory, Inc. or published by HAL for co-developing studios.

    PLAY RETRO 28: The Legacy of Kain series Jul 20, 2022

    Originally created by Silicon Knights in association with Crystal Dynamics, Legacy of Kain is an action-adventure series known for its outstanding narrative and involving puzzle-based gameplay. The series broke new ground with its high quality of voice-acting and engaging storyline featuring complex and often dark characters. Crystal Dynamics took over development after the release of the first game and went on to add four sequels.

    Yep, we are all about the Mega Man this week. Mega Man, known as Rockman in Japan, is a Japanese science fiction video game franchise created by Capcom, starring a series of robot characters each known by the moniker "Mega Man". The original game was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1987, and spawned a franchise that expanded to over 50 games on multiple systems. As of March 31, 2021, the series has sold 37 million units worldwide.

    Pitfall! is a platform video game designed by David Crane for the Atari 2600 and released by Activision in 1982. The player controls Pitfall Harry and is tasked with collecting all the treasures in a jungle within 20 minutes. The world consists of 255 screens which are horizontally connected in a flip screen manner. We talk about it!

    The Dreamcast is a home video game console released by Sega on November 27, 1998, in Japan, September 9, 1999, in North America, and October 14, 1999, in Europe. It was the first in the sixth generation of video game consoles, preceding Sony's PlayStation 2, Nintendo's GameCube, and Microsoft's Xbox. The Dreamcast was Sega's final home console, with its discontinuation in 2001 marking the end of the company's eighteen years in the console market. We gonna talk about it!

    PLAY RETRO 14: King's Quest I - VII Apr 06, 2022

    King's Quest is a graphic adventure game series, released between 1980 and 2016 and created by the American software company Sierra Entertainment. It is widely considered a classic series from the golden era of adventure games. Following the success of its first installments, the series was primarily responsible for building the reputation of Sierra. Roberta Williams, co-founder and former co-owner of Sierra, designed all of the King's Quest games until the series' reboot in 2015.


    PLAY RETRO 13: Ducktales Mar 29, 2022

    Duck Tales for NES is a traditional platform game in which the player takes the role of greedy Scrooge McDuck in search of treasures around the globe. He counts on his three nephews and on other Duck Tales characters to help him in his quest through inhospitable places such as the Amazon rainforest, the African mines, the Himalayas, Transylvania (where he meets Dracula Duck) and even the Moon.

    Each one of them reserves the old duck lots of adventure, different enemies and hidden rooms.

    The game features a 2D side-scrolling platform gameplay very similar to Mega Man. Graphics are colorful and cartoonish, music is reminiscent of the TV series, and controls are very simple.

    PLAY RETRO 11: Metroid Mar 15, 2022

    Metroid is an action-adventure game developed and published by Nintendo. The first installment in the Metroid series, it was originally released in Japan for the Family Computer Disk System peripheral in August 1986. North America received a release in August 1987 on the Nintendo Entertainment System in the Game Pak ROM cartridge format, with the European release following in January 1988.

    Set on the planet Zebes, the story follows Samus Aran as she attempts to retrieve the parasitic Metroid organisms that were stolen by Space Pirates, who plan to replicate the Metroids by exposing them to beta rays and then use them as biological weapons to destroy Samus and all who oppose them.
