Scott Mason talks to George Bremer of CNHI Sports in Indianapolis about the Jets' acquisition, Colts CB Nate Hairston, and Matt Stypulkoski of NJ Advance Media and NJ.Com to discuss the trade for Hairston, the latest practice, and the Jets' 2019 pre-season finale against the Philadelphia Eagles at Metlife Stadium!
First, George tells us everything we need to know about Hairston including his strengths and weaknesses, his specialties in coverage, why he fell out of favor in Indianapolis, how he looked in pre-season action and training camp this summer, what made him expendable, the variety of ways he can be deployed and his best system fit, what he would likely be asked to do in Gregg Williams' defense, the connection to Rex Hogan, and whether or not the move was a good one for both teams.
Then, Matt talks about the Hairston deal from the Jets side and what the acquisition means for them, the latest on the injury to Robby Anderson, the returns of Kelechi Osemele, Brian Winters, and Trumaine Johnson to practice, quotes from inside the locker room, which players will play and which ones won't in the pre-season finale against the Eagles, players who can make or break their chances to stick with the team with a good or bad performance, stuff to keep an eye on during the game that could have significance heading into the regular season, and more!
