This course provides students with a basic overview of the American legal system and the profession of a paralegal. In this introductory course, topics covered will include the legal system in America; civil and criminal litigation and procedure; the appeals process; legal ethics, professionalism, and biblical worldview; and substantive legal topics including Torts, Contract Law, Criminal Law, and Property Law. Additionally, law office practice including legal research, legal vocabulary, critical reading and writing, client interviews, investigation, law office administration, and technologies will be covered.
