At Luke and Laura’s wedding, family tensions erupted when Maxie’s disruptive behavior sparked a chain of emotional fallout, culminating in Elizabeth collapsing at the reception. While blaming stress, Liz was clearly burdened by deeper troubles—especially after she found a gravely injured Jason in a church and revealed she was pregnant with his child. With Sonny’s help, Liz hid Jason in her old art studio and performed emergency surgery, all while navigating mounting pressure from Carly, Ric, and Lucky. As Ric manipulated Lucky back onto the force and tasked him with capturing Jason, Liz lied to protect Jason, further straining her already fragile relationship. Maxie stirred more chaos by faking a pregnancy with Lucky’s baby, while Jason sought Spinelli’s help to clear Sam’s name. Meanwhile, Laura’s decline and return to Shadybrook devastated her family, as Robin struggled with guilt and found comfort in Patrick. Tensions escalated when Lulu and Spinelli endangered Jason, Sam clashed with Liz, and Ric used Sam to track Jason—pushing Liz into increasingly risky cover-ups.

As the holidays approached, emotional turmoil intensified. Maxie’s lies and manipulations deepened as she staged a fall to fake a miscarriage and gain Lucky’s sympathy, while Ric hinted at planting pills in Lucky’s desk to drive Liz away from him. Liz’s trust in Lucky unraveled despite his clean drug test, and her growing bond with Jason led to tender moments and emotional clarity. Liz rejected Lucky’s mistletoe kiss, while he confided in Nikolas about his guilt and love. At the hospital Christmas party, drama reached a peak as Liz grew suspicious of Maxie, Epiphany questioned her, and Jason offered Liz support. Sam’s presence at GH sparked jealousy, and Lucky’s public display with Maxie devastated Liz. In early 2007, Liz, unconscious after a car accident, dreamt of her child’s future caught between Jason and Lucky. As Maxie’s deceptions crumbled, Liz discovered the truth about the fake miscarriage and faced the difficult decision of whether to reveal Jason’s paternity. During the Metro Court hostage crisis, Liz, trapped and pregnant, shared raw, emotional moments with Jason and Sam. After Jason learned the truth, Liz chose to remarry Lucky for the stability he offered, though their vows masked unresolved secrets that would continue to haunt them.

Their struggles deepen when Liz considers surrogacy to help Jax and Courtney, which pushes Lucky to make a desperate choice—stealing drug money to fix their financial problems. Liz is forced to confront the man Lucky is becoming, leaving her questioning whether their love can survive the fallout. As Liz’s pregnancy complicates matters further, Lucky’s jealousy and insecurities threaten to drive a wedge between them. Tensions grow when Liz’s apartment is destroyed in a fire, and although Jax rescues her, the strain on their relationship intensifies.

Despite the obstacles, Lucky and Liz continue to fight for their love. After a car accident that results in Liz losing the baby, the couple is left to mourn their loss together. Liz decides to step away from the surrogacy with Jax, reaffirming her desire to have a child with Lucky, the man she truly loves. Amidst the heartache, they find solace in each other, proving that, despite their struggles, love can endure and lead them to a fresh start.
