Music
**Piano + Sounds**

This podcast started in the Summer of ’22 really as a way to encourage me to play through my old compositions and keep me sharp for when I perform live.
The focus of these shows has sort of shifted as I started to get feedback and seeing that people are actually listening to them and connecting with them. Now I’m taking my time a little more with each episode and focusing more on the quality of the content in hopes that we can grow something special here.
If you enjoy Piano + Sounds as much as I do in creating them, please consider supporting me in this endeavor!

Goodnight Mar 22, 2024

Show notes

I was feeling in a dreamy mood today and brought out the felted piano.

Space Guitar Mar 07, 2024

Show notes

A spaced out guitar patch drenched in reverb. This starts with the second recording of a lovely little tune I just stared working out. Then drifts into "Choose Your Own Adventure". Those were literally the only type of books I would read as a kid. I end this with "Please" a song I wrote for a girl in high school who passed away last year. This song has taken on a different and more powerful tone since.

When Something Lovely Happens Feb 27, 2024

Show notes

I'm starting this one with one of my favorites to perform, "When Something Lovely Happens". The second song is a new one that I came up with last night. I just think this whole 19 minutes is really good! There are an awful lot of frequencies bouncing around so it's best to listen to this with speakers or headphones that can handle it. Simple Feb 19, 2024

Show notes

I've been trying all morning to add some strings or pads to this recording but the more I listen to it, I think it's best just left alone.

Some Good Moments Feb 07, 2024

Show notes

It starts a bit timid and at times it meanders but hey at least it's free.

Jam Session with Monster Planet #2 Feb 01, 2024

Show notes

I had another awesome opportunity to jam out with Monster Planet last week. I'm learning it's such a different approach to create music when you're playing alongside other people. Enjoy!

Happy Little Accidents Jan 19, 2024

Show notes

It's been a rough month and a half for me creatively. It felt as if I was stuck in the mud starting a new project every day and throwing it away the very next day. As frustrating as it's been, I feel as if that process built up this frustration to a point that's audible in this performance. Happy 2024 everyone! This little podcast is now officially into its third season!

Phasers, Reverb, & Delays Nov 30, 2023

Show notes

Hey if you're in the Portland, OR area on January 13 please come out and see me perform live! https://piano.yapsody.com

Jam Session with Monster Planet Nov 21, 2023

Show notes

Well this is different. I jammed out with a band called Monster Planet over the weekend. It's such a foreign concept to me to not lead every song but to just allow the music to flow and just find my space in it. Thank you Monster Planet for being such hospital hosts. You can check them out here: https://monsterplanet.tv/

A Lost Song Found Again! Nov 04, 2023

Show notes

Sometimes it's more about the vibes created and less about getting every note right. I was really hesitant to post this one because there are more mistakes in it than most of these. The reason I didn't is I was so excited to remember one of my songs I made durning Covid; the first song on here, "What Used To Be". I wasn't playing anywhere live then so I didn't really make an effort to learn the songs from that album and a couple days ago now, I just sort of stumbled on it again. It's nice to be able to play this one again!
