    Phil Taggart’s Slacker Podcast

Hello Slackers! Welcome to the UK’s Biggest Music Podcast. Each week, host Phil Taggart grills a new guest or band on their musical career to date with the sonic launch point being as early a demo as we can prise from their vaults. From here the conversation freewheels down a spaghetti junction of quirky anecdotes, hot takes and uncovers the journey each artist has taken to where they are today.

    Happy New Year Slackers!

This week on the first podcast of 2019 we have one of the most important youth voices in the UK. His name is Novelist. I've been playing his music on radio since he popped up on the scene back a few years ago. He's a really righteous dude with the fiercest skill on the mic. This episode is not like any of the others. Hope you enjoy x

    Mura Masa Dec 19, 2018
    Show notes

Hello Slackers. Seasons Greetings! I hope you're all good this week. We have a wicked podcast for you this week. The UK's finest producer Mura Masa popped by the dungeon studio in Soho earlier in the year for a chat and he brought with him one of his earliest demo's. Most MC's, singers and musicians would kill to have Alex Crossan in the studio. I didn't think it appropriate to ask him to make a beat for me considering i can't sing or rap. He's an interesting dude. We took a look at the music industry through the eyes of a successful and sought after 23 year old. I really enjoyed our chat, hope you do too.

Please send guest suggestions for Season 2. I just started recording them last week

    Show notes

Seasonal Slacker Greetings! Hello to you all! I hope you're mince pies are full of raisins and your pockets full on tinsel. This is number 12/16 of Season 1 of The Slacker Podcast.

This week I am joined by a full on family. The Cribs are this weeks subjects of the Slacker Podcast. I love this band for many different reasons. Mainly because they are a formative band for me. When I was in my band all i wanted to do was go on tour with The Cribs. They are the most legitimate rock and roll band going in the UK. This was the first ever Slacker Podcast I recorded, just under a year ago. I hope you enjoy it...

    Show notes

Hello Slackers! Welcome to the Slacker Podcast. Thanks for joining us this week with a brand new podcast for you to do what you want with.

This week's podcast is with Scottish Synth Saviours Chvrches. What an absolutely dynamite band they are. They make pop music interesting. There's no formulaic following of patterns for Chvrches, it's a real smashing together of influences. It was great to sit down with 2/3s of the band for a chinwag.

If you enjoy the pod please rate and review it as it gets it out to more people. Thanks very much!

Greetings and Winter Salutations from Slacker HQ (My living room). I hope you are all good! Thanks for jumping into this weeks podcast. It is 10/16 which means only 6 more left of Season 1. The whole Season has absolutely whizzed by! Thank you so much for all the support

This week's guest is Andrew Hozier-Byrne aka. Hozier. He is an absolute gem of a human being and was one of the most interesting people that I've have had on the show. He brought with him a never before heard version of 'Take Me to Church', the first demo of a song that would help bring him to a global audience. I hope you enjoy the podcast and as usual! What's the craic Slackers? Hope yiz are all knocking lumps out of each other on Pokemon. Welcome to the 9th episode of the Slacker Podcast. Special wave to the new dodie fans who join us on this episode of the pod. My name is Phil Taggart, I'm 7 Foot 9 and have more hair on my hands than most people do on their head. I'm a music broadcaster and i started this podcast to have long form interviews with artists and to hear their very early demo's.

This week dodie is the subject to take the stand. She's a wonderful human being and she is slaloming her musical journey in a completely unique way to any of the guests we've had on the podcast previously. Tighten your nose peg and dive in.

If you enjoy the pod plzzzz rate and review it as it gets it out to more people. Thanks very much xxx

Well Slackers. I hope your conjunctivitis has cleared up since the last time you were here. It’s looking pretty good! Welcome to all the new listeners. On this podcast we play class artists’ early demos and we get a good chin wag in along the way.

This week’s guest is Gary Lightbody from Snow Patrol. He’s legit seen it all in the world of music and has traversed the highs and lows of everything that comes with it, which places him in a very apt position for me to badger him with questions. The version of Run he plays on the podcast was dug out of one of the band's attics and hasn’t been heard before so should be special for the Snow Patrol fan boys and girls.

Please give the podcast a little rating or a review if you enjoy it.

This Friday (16th Nov 2018) the Slacker Live Music Night will be at Portrush at the Atlantic Sessions on Northern Ireland. I have curated an amazing lineup as has our guest this week Gary Lightbody. If you want tickets then you can grab them here!

Hello Slackers! Welcome to the Slacker Podcast! I hope this Halloween season is treating you fine and dandy like sour candy and that your pets are kept in doors and away from the fireworks. This Halloween I am going as Broken Face Man, the super hero with ability to break his face at any given point. Yeah, I broke my nose playing football at the weekend and as i type this my eye is as black as a goths socks. Welcome to the podcast to you if you are fresh and this is your first episode. Please do go back and check out some of the others that I recorded.

This week's guest is Kate Nash. She is a force of nature in which ever field she chooses whether it's music, acting or activism. This being the Slacker Podcast we focus mainly on the music but we touch on the other parts as well. She brought in an early demo of her track 'Dickhead' which I don't think has been heard anywhere before, so there's a treat for the mega Kate Nash fans. Apart from all that she's just a lovely human and i really enjoyed my chat with her. I hope you do too!

Please give the podcast a little review or rate it wherever you listen to podcasts please!
