Danny currently stars in “Moulin Rouge: The Musical” which earned him a Tony Award for ‘Best Featured Actor in a Musical’ last year. He also earned previous Tony nominations for his work in “The Drowsy Chaperone”, “South Pacific”, “Cabaret”, “Follies”, “Fiddler on the Roof”, and “Golden Boy”. Danny currently stars as Ebeneezer Scrooge in the new musical available to stream, called “Estella Scrooge”, a modern retelling of Charles Dickens classic “A Christmas Carol”. He was married for twenty years to the luminous Broadway leading lady Rebecca Luker who lost her battle with ALS last December. Danny talks about his life, his career, his near fatal experience with Covid, losing his wife Rebecca, and what he realizes matters most in life.

    In this episode of Personally Speaking, Msgr. Jim Lisante is joined by Cardinal George Pell from Australia. Cardinal Pell is the former Secretary of the Economy at the Vatican and he also served on Pope Francis’ Council of Cardinals. On March 13, 2019, Cardinal Pell began what was meant to be six years in jail for “historical sexual assault offenses”. He endured more than thirteen months in solitary confinement before the Australian High Court voted 7-0 to overturn his original convictions. Cardinal Pell relives his prison experience in his book, “Prison Journal” and the third and final volume of the journal he wrote while in prison has just been released, titled, “Prison Journal: Volume 3: The High Court Frees an Innocent Man.” In this final volume of Cardinal Pell’s journal he recounts being freed from jail after his conviction was overturned, the support he received from all over the world, and how he made the decision to forgive his accusers.

    In this episode of Personally Speaking, Msgr. Jim Lisante is joined by professional golfer Bubba Watson. Bubba plays on the PGA tour and he’s one of the few left-handed golfers on the tour. He’s a multiple major champion with victories at the Masters Tournament in 2012 and 2014. In February, 2015, Bubba reached a career high 2nd place, in the “Official World Golf Ranking”. Bubba has written a book called, “Up and Down: Victories and Struggles in the Course of Life”, in which he talks about the toll that chasing his dream of being a champion golfer took on his mental health. He’s here with us today to talk about his life, his career, his family, how reaching a breaking point professionally and personally drew him closer to his family and God, and how he hopes to help others by sharing his story.
