    In this episode of Personally Speaking, Msgr. Jim Lisante is joined by actor Elijah Alexander. Elijah stars in the critically acclaimed series “The Chosen” portraying the calculating Roman magistrate Atticus. He’s a graduate of The Yale School of Drama and has decades of experience in film, television and on stage. He has also recently joined the cast of the upcoming biblical film “Daniel: The Fiery Furnace” portraying King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon which will release in U.S. theaters nationwide in September. Elijah was born to an Egyptian/Israeli Jewish father and an Irish/Welsh Lutheran mother. He speaks about how his journey of faith unfolded while filming “The Chosen” last year and he was baptized on the set.

    In this episode of Personally Speaking, Msgr. Jim Lisante is joined by Msgr. Peter Vaccari. Msgr. Vaccari is a priest of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn. He is president of the “Catholic Near East Welfare Association” and the president of its operating agency in the Middle East, the “Pontifical Mission for Palestine”. Msgr. Vaccari was the rector and president of St. Joseph’s Seminary in Yonkers, New York, the seminary of the Archdiocese of New York and the dioceses of Brooklyn and Rockville Centre. Before serving at St. Joseph’s, he was rector of the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception in Huntington, Long Island. Msgr. Vaccari talks about his life, his vocation journey, how he has served the church of greater New York in a variety of capacities, and his insight into the humanitarian crisis facing vulnerable communities across the Middle East, Northeast Africa, India and Eastern Europe.

He is a frequent contributor and expert historian in the media from Newsmax to MSNBC, C-Span to PBS, and a much in demand speaker. In his book, Dr. Kengor gives a portrait of Robert Francis Prevost, his background and life, theological beliefs and teachings, the challenges he will face, and how he’ll likely lead the Catholic Church.

Tim is one of five children of Eunice Kennedy Shriver, who founded the Special Olympics, and Sargent Shriver, who helped found the Peace Corps. A recently discovered memoir by Sargent Shriver, called, “We Called it a War” was just published. It’s a first-hand account of Sargent Shriver’s leadership of the War on Poverty. Timothy Shriver is Chairman of Special Olympics He talks about the lessons from his father’s work and how to inspire people to join in the war against poverty to defeat it.

On June 5, 2024, Captain Wilmore led Boeing’s Starliner on its first crewed flight , a mission planned for eight days, that stretched into nearly ten months aboard the International Space Station. He wrote a book about that experience and his faith in Christ that sustained him called, “Stuck in Space: An Astronaut’s Hope Through the Unexpected”. Captain Wilmore shares his faith journey and his trust in Christ, no matter what the circumstance is.

He is the eldest of seven children and is joined in religious life by two brothers in the priesthood, Fr. Nicholas Morrison and Fr. Daniel Morrison, who are also priests of the Archdiocese of Washington, and a sister, Sister Mary Sophia Morrison who is a member of the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia in Nashville. Fr. James talks about his life, his family, his Catholic faith and vocation, and what it’s like having two brothers as brother priests and a sister who is a religious sister.

One of Daniel’s recent productions is the film “The Hail Mary”, which he wrote, directed and stars in. The film, inspired by Daniel’s experiences with Catholic school nuns, tells the story of a janitor and a nun who form an unlikely friendship. ”The Hail Mary” is a heartfelt comedy-drama about forgiveness, faith and the unlikely connections that turn a struggling football team into a story of redemption.
