Sunday night Tunnel Vision is back with USCFootball.com's Shotgun Spratling and Austin Green along with intern Jack Smith breaking down the Trojans 30-14 win over the Cougars. With half of the regular college football season in the books the guys talk about USC's 6-0 start under head coach Lincoln Riley including 4-0 in the Pac-12 after sweeping the "state" schools in Oregon State, Arizona State and Washington State.

It was another amazing performance by Trojan defensive lineman Tuli Tuipulotu who picked up four tackles for loss including three sacks. He helped USC's defenders limit the Cougars to just 49 passing yards and zero points after halftime. Offensively the passing game wasn't clicking so the Trojans relied on Travis Dye who ran for nearly 150 yards and a touchdown. Even special teams got into the fun with the best overall performance by the USC kick units of the season.

Coach Harvey Hyde impressed with USC's defensive effort Oct 09, 2022

This week on the Peristyle Podcast Coach Harvey Hyde and Ryan Abraham are back together again talking about the Trojans hitting the halfway mark of the season at 6-0 following a 30-14 victory over the Washington State Cougars in the Coliseum. USC is now bowl eligible after missing the postseason last year with a 4-8 record and head coach Lincoln Riley is showing that his squad can win a number of different ways. On Saturday night his Trojans showed they can win with a defensive that doesn't create turnovers, an offense that relies on the ground game and special teams that do the right things and put the team in better field position situations.

USC takes care of Arizona State & faces big challenge against Washington State Oct 04, 2022

Tunnel Vision: Recapping the Trojans 42-25 victory over the Arizona State Sun Devils Oct 03, 2022

Sunday night Tunnel Vision is back with USCFootball.com's Ryan Abraham and Chris Trevino along with intern Jack Smith breaking down the Trojans 42-25 win over the Sun Devils. It may not have been as clean as some USC football fans would have liked, but it was 17-point victory over a conference foe that brought the team to 5-0 already surpassing the team's win total from a year ago.

The guys talk about the offense getting back on track thanks to quarterback Caleb Williams' epic night with four total touchdowns and nearly 400 yards of offense, Travis Dye finding the end zone two more times and receiver Jordan Addison eclipsing the 100-yard mark yet again.

The guys also talk about the defensive performance that left a lot to be desired, especially in the first half. But Alex Grinch's squad was able to bounce-back after halftime and really force the issue with pressures, tackles for loss and eventually Calen Bullock's interception that ended the Sun Devils' final threat. Plus nagging special teams concerns have grown into a potential problem with way too many yards of field position being surrendered in the kicking game.

This week on the Peristyle Podcast Coach Harvey Hyde and Ryan Abraham team up again to breakdown USC's 42-25 victory over Arizona State Saturday night in the LA Coliseum. The Trojan offense got back on track led by quarterback Caleb Williams who had another magical performance for the home team. Tunnel Vision: Previewing the 4-0 USC Trojans hosting the 1-3 Arizona State Sun Devils Sep 30, 2022

Thursday night Tunnel Vision returns with USCFootball.com reporters Shotgun Spratling and R.J. Abeytia and intern Jack Smith previewing USC's game against Arizona State, the third conference contest and first Pac-12 game in the Coliseum for head coach Lincoln Riley. The guys talk about how the struggling Trojan offense can use this opportunity to get back on track against a reeling ASU squad that recently fired its head coach Herm Edwards.

Typically USC has been on the wrong end of games where an interim coach has been involved since the Trojans were typically the team that had recently fired their head coach. This week the role is reversed with Herm Edwards out and Arizona State being run by interim head coach Shaun Aguano.

Peristyle Podcast - No. 6 Trojans survive Corvallis and return home to "get right" against ASU Sep 27, 2022

In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham and Chris Trevino are back in studio LIVE talking about the Trojans narrow 17-14 victory over Oregon State up in Corvallis. It was a bit of a role reversal for Lincoln Riley's squad with the defense leading the charge while the offense sputtered most of the night, getting things going just enough in the final quarter to pull out the victory.

On the defensive side Alex Grinch and his squad held OSU to just 14 points and one of those Beaver touchdowns came on an extremely short field when Oregon State started at USC's 22 yard-line in the fourth quarter. The defense again came up with some key stops but also again forced turnovers, this time it was four interceptions including the game sealer by Max Williams with just seconds left on the clock. Remarkedly the Trojans defense have forced a turnover on 33% of opponents drives this season (14 overall turnovers).

Offensively everyone is wondering (including us) why quarterback Caleb Williams was struggling so much. The offense looked out of sync with plays breaking down faster than expected and when they didn't Williams seemed to rush anyway. The main highlight was Oregon transfer running back Travis Dye who had his 3rd-straight 100-yard performance as a Trojan.

The offense does have an excellent shot at getting back on track this weekend with Pac-12 foe Arizona State coming to the Coliseum. If ever the USC offense needed a "get right" game it was this one and the Sun Devils are so bad they will likely accommodate.

They also breakdown what they saw and heard from USC's Tuesday morning practice of Arizona State week and give some early assessments of what USC can expect with ASU in town.
