    The USC Triple-Double Podcast -- the Peristyle Podcast's basketball-focused podcast -- returns with co-hosts Shotgun Spratling and Connor Morrissette (aka Mr. Triple Double) breaking down the Women of Troy's NCAA tournament seeding and upcoming matchups that will be hosted at the Galen Center as well as the men's Big Ten Tournament run, including some baffling whistles from the Big Ten officials once again.


    USC associate head coach Beth Burns then joins the show. She talks about the Trojans' bouncing back from their loss in the Big Ten Tournament championship and how she thinks the team will prepare and respond heading into the NCAA tournament. She chats about how the coaching staff gets ready for opponents in the NCAA tournament and the advantages of playing at home.


    Burns also discusses the impact of Kennedy Smith on USC's defensive success and talks about the strides JuJu Watkins has taken this season to become an elite performer on both ends of the court.


    Shotgun and Connor then look at where both Trojan teams stand, including the men accepting an invitation to the Crown Basketball Tournament in Las Vegas. The podcasting duo also glance forward at the upcoming matchup against UNC Greensboro and potential matchups against Cal or Mississippi State for the USC women in the NCAA tournament opening two rounds, which gets underway Saturday afternoon against UNCG at noon PDT on ABC.

    Dedeaux Download Podcast: Trojans get first Big Ten wins; Brayden Dowd joins after homecoming Mar 18, 2025

    The Dedeaux Download Podcast returns with Shotgun Spratling and new podcast co-host Kasey Kazliner breaking down USC baseball's first Big Ten wins after the Trojans take series in Ann Arbor where they won handily, rallied for a one-run victory and then got run-ruled to drop the finale.

    Shotgun and Kasey break down all the action, looking at the positives of the Trojans stopping their losing streak behind Adrian Lopez again coming up with a big hit while Brayden Dowd and Caden Hunter helped set the tone to the weekend. The podcasters also look at three negatives on each side, including the black hole that has becoming the Sunday starting pitcher role and the uncompetitive fight of USC on Sunday.

    After a break, sophomore outfielder Brayden Dowd joins the show to discuss his homecoming trip to Michigan, where his sister was a volleyball players and where he had a bevy of family and friends coming out to watch him play in his home state. He talks about how he expected to get away from the Midwest with his commitment to Trojans...only for USC to announce its intentions to move to the Big Ten a couple months after Dowd's commitment.

    Dowd is quick to heap praise on the rest of his sophomore class and also discusses how he's adapted his approach since moving into the leadoff spot in the lineup.

    Following Dowd's appearance, Shotgun and Kasey take a look at where exactly the Trojans stand after getting a road conference series win, including USC's record, conference mark, RPI and in the national rankings for key statistics.

    The podcast then previews USC's upcoming week of action, beginning with a stopover in Phoenix to take on familiar former Pac-12 rival, Arizona State, before a weekend set against a scuffling Nebraska team down in Irvine.

    The Dedeaux Download Podcast returns with Shotgun Spratling and new podcast co-host Kasey Kazliner breaking down a string of losses as the USC baseball program hits the skids with a six-game losing streak, including a sweep at home against No. 10 Oregon in the first-ever Big Ten games played by the Trojans.

    Shotgun and Kasey break down all the action, looking at the positives of Brayden Dowd and Ethan Hedges at the top of the lineup as well as Adrian Lopez breaking loose with five hits in the last two games.     USC Triple-Double: Avery Howell joins the show after strong Big Ten Tournament run; USC men set to start conference tournament Mar 12, 2025

    The USC Triple-Double Podcast -- the Peristyle Podcast's basketball-focused podcast -- returns with co-hosts Shotgun Spratling and Connor Morrissette (aka Mr. Triple Double) breaking down the Women of Troy's Big Ten Tournament run, including the disappointing final 20 minutes of the championship game when the Trojans couldn't buy a bucket, blowing a 13-point lead in a 72-67 loss to rival UCLA while the Trojan men were also beat by the Bruins but in a much more embarrassing fashion.

    USC freshman guard Avery Howell then joins the show. She talks about the Trojans' difficult loss in the Big Ten Tournament championship and how she thinks the team will use the loss as they move forward toward the NCAA tournament. She chats about how she has tried to fit with the Women of Troy this season despite joining the group late in the summer after being an alternate with Team Canada.

    Howell also discusses her three-point shooting and the work she has put in, beginning while she was still in high school to turn that aspect from a weakness into a strength.

    Shotgun and Connor then look at where both Trojan teams stand, including what the latest bracketology says about the Women of Troy's chances to be a No. 1 seed. The podcasting duo also glance forward at the upcoming potential matchups for the USC men in their Big Ten Tournament appearance, which gets underway Wednesday night against Rutgers at around 5:30 p.m. PDT on Peacock.
