Family Feud Podcast: Mid-Fall Camp Evaluations Aug 17, 2018
    Show notes

The USC football team has made it beyond the halfway point of fall camp, but just how far along are the Trojans? Keely Eure and Shotgun Spratling are back in the studio with a new episode of the Family Feud Podcast to discuss that and more. They look at what has happened in the first 10 competitive practices over the first two weeks and evaluate who is pushing themselves to the forefront and who is lagging behind. The dueling duo jump right into their Stock Up/Stock Down segment to debate who is excelling and who they want to see more from. One of the more interesting cases comes in the form of redshirt junior Ykili Ross. The hybrid defensive back who can play the safety and nickel back positions only had one full practice before tweaking his hamstring. He came out of the spring as the incumbent at the safety spot opposite Marvell Tell III, but having not seen the field in over a week and a half, where does Ross' stock stand? A USCfootball.com podcast this fall camp would not be complete without a discussion of the quarterback competition. Find out where Keely and Shotgun have the quarterbacks in their Stock Up/Stock Down segment and see what impact injuries have had on some of the position battles. The feuders bring back the "Heard it on the Sidelines..." segment to give you some of the most interesting tidbits they've heard while roaming the sidelines and from speaking with the players and coaches during fall camp, including what everyone is saying about true freshman receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and how the dynamic between defensive backs coach Ronnie Bradford and new defensive consultant Dave Campo, a former NFL defensive coordinator and head coach, has played out. Finally, Keely and Shotgun end the show with their Agree/Disagree segment. In this segment, Keely asks if the Trojans should whittle down the quarterback competition after this weekend's scrimmage? The duo also discuss what kind of potential the USC defensive line has this season. Without Uchenna Nwosu, Rasheem Green and Josh Fatu, could the Trojans be even better than last year's team that tied for the most sacks in the nation? This episode of the Family Feud Podcast concludes with a discussion about season expectations and what type of record should be accepted as a quality season and what will be considered overachieving. Keely and Shotgun are looking to feature your question on an upcoming episode of the Family Feud Podcast. Send your Stock Up/Stock Down contenders for us debate or provide us with an Agree/Disagree statement you want us to answer. Family Feud Podcast - Fall Camp Preview Aug 03, 2018
    Show notes

After a long hiatus, Keely Eure and Shotgun Spratling are back in the studio with a new episode of the Family Feud Podcast. On the eve of USC's first fall camp practice, the duo preview what they are looking for and will evaluate during the Trojans' training camp. First off, Keely and Shotgun recap their observations from the long offseason. Which players stood out during USC's player-run practices? How did the Trojans' incoming freshmen perform? Is JT Daniels play as advertised? How strong is the Daniels to Amon-Ra St. Brown connection? Will their strong connection help them standout in their perspective position battles? They also debate the new format of summer PRPs and if it benefiting or hindering the players. With fall camp just a day away, Keely and Shotgun discuss their expectations for fall camp. What are they looking forward to seeing in the upcoming weeks? Which position group has the most depth? What should USC's coaches be looking for when evaluating the quarterback battle? What are the keys to a successful training camp? The duo then gives a brief preview of each position group. First, they start where all eyes will be on Friday - on the quarterbacks. Then, they predict who will start on USC's offensive line. Could this be a make it or break it year for offensive line coach Neil Callaway? They also debate whether true freshmen Brett Neilon and Justin Dedich could see playing time. Finally, they discuss USC's running backs and run game. Could Tim Drevno have an impact on the Trojans' play calling and schemes? Moving on to the other side of the ball, they discuss the impressive depth that the Trojans' have on defense. Who will fill Chris Hawkins' safety position? Which player will play opposite Iman Marshall at the safety position? Will Clancy Pendergast rotate more players in games this season? Which players are guaranteed to start? Finally, Keely and Shotgun end the show with a new segment: Agree/Disagree. In this segment, Keely says a statement and Shotgun discusses - as you can probably guess - whether he agrees or disagrees. Is this USC team this year's Georgia? Will JT Daniels be the quarterback with the most starts at the end of the season? Could USC finish the month of September 4-1? We release new episodes of the Peristyle Podcast every week. Beat writer Dan Weber, national recruiting analyst Gerard Martinez, longtime coach, and football guru Harvey Hyde, reporter Keely Eure and special guests join publisher Ryan Abraham on the podcast to bring you the latest USC Trojan football team news and recruiting information. Subscribe with iTunes or Google Play and never miss an episode! Have a question for Keely and Shotgun? Email us at familyfeudpod@gmail.com.
