S08 Ep13: Dungeons and Dragons Strikes Again
Mar 02, 2024
It’s been a while since poor Kurt Mcfall’s tragic death, and Unsolved mysteries is back to blaming murders on DnD with no evidence! But don’t worry, this time there’s a psychic!
Once again, life got in the way of our ability to record a regular episode. The good news is that we decided to gift our wider audience the treasure that is us watching that terrible Rob Lowe dog movie.

This week, Unsolved Mysteries presents a possible suspect in the Green River serial murder case. The problem is, it’s not Gary Ridgway. We also get a lovely dream mystery, a lost love that made us cry, and another interesting true crime story.
In the past, Unsolved Mysteries has explored the concept of “Natures Whimsy,” also known as “having a twin,” but have you ever thought about… NOT having a twin? Now that’s a real mystery. Also, murderers should find better hobbies. We love our 5 listeners, so please heed our advice and never angrily drive off after violent lunatics!
S08 Ep09: A Criminal Ego Running Wild
Dec 22, 2023
This week, we have breaking flag news for you, as well as five mysteries to talk about including some interesting true crime mysteries, a lost love, and a sci-med segment that dares to ask “why are some kids nerds”?

S08 Ep06: May All Your Mysteries Be Solved
Oct 26, 2023
We are celebrating Christmas in October with this week’s episode of Unsolved Mysteries! And, in true Unsolved Mysteries style, they choose only the most depressing cases to cover for their Holiday episode. Thank you for your patience as we took time off for Samantha to recover from surgery. Please enjoy this regularly scheduled episode!
Samantha is out on parole, and we are ready to bring you new Unsolved Mysteries content…in two weeks! Today, we are catching up on what we’ve been up to and what we have planned. We recently saw “Unsolved Mysteries: Behind the Legacy” at the Alamo Draft House. Samantha received all of your gifts and well wishes and appreciates them very much! We will have a new season 8 episode for you next time. Until then, keep barking!

S08 Ep04: Perhaps You Can Stop Staring at the Sun

S08 Ep02: The Standard Lizard Package
Jun 08, 2023
Season 8 of Unsolved Mysteries is off to a predictably sad start. We actually liked this episode, yet we don’t recommend you watch it because it is so sad! That’s called the Unsolved Mysteries Paradox. Anyway, this week we talk about a secular miracle, some Tiger King lizard shenanigans, and the original Doctor Death.
In true season 7 fashion, this episode is extremely delayed! Hopefully, it is worth the wait because it includes a special surprise! Join us as we say “goodbye forever” to season 7 of Unsolved Mysteries and read spooky stories that our listeners sent us (at least, we hope they are still listening…).

S07 Ep21: The Gentle Touch of a Garbage Lover
Mar 16, 2023
The marathon that was season 7 has finally come to an end! In this special finale, Unsolved Mysteries reveals the mystery of alien beings! If you were traumatized by this show as a child, you probably saw this episode. The reenactments in this episode might also look familiar if you’ve ever had a formative experience with your bros in a forest that involved getting naked.
This week, Unsolved Mysteries talks about The Most Dangerous Game! Which you probably thought was Russian Roulette or the cinnamon challenge or something, but NO! It’s the Ouija board! Find out how one woman used it to write stories about Jesus from beyond the grave. We also discuss Liz’s pro-counterfeiting stance, and she brings up The Purge a lot.
Hero Dog Pupcast 5: Special Goose Unit
Jan 11, 2023
We aren’t ready to dive back into depressing stories just yet, so we decided to start the year off with some hero animals! What is it going to take to get a goose on the next Minneapolis mayoral ballot?
This week’s episode features an extended mouth noises segment we’ve now dubbed “Snacks With Stack”! We enjoyed some seasonal sweets and some super sour candies curtesy of listener, Leilani! And we know that Robert Stack smiled upon us because our episode of Unsolved Mysteries features an amnesia case and a lost love!
This week, we discuss a pretty good episode of Unsolved Mysteries. More importantly, we tell you all about our adventures on the first annual Spooky Train Day.

Jul 15, 2022
How are you doing, Mystery Solvers? Are you drinking water? Wearing your SPF? Are you getting enough hot fudge? This week’s episode of Unsolved Mysteries features two very interesting mysteries and a lost love! A WWII submarine mystery can’t even spoil it.
We scraped together the last shards of our energy to talk about this week’s episode of Unsolved Mysteries. We hope it brings you some joy in these bleak times. Hang in there, Mystery Solvers. Keep barking, and do things that will be good for the obit.

S07 Ep04: Frequent but Unwanted Guests
Feb 24, 2022
Is Unsolved Mysteries our frequent but unwanted guest? Contrary to Samantha’s claims, this is probably not the worst episode we have ever covered, but it’s certainly up there. This week, Unsolved Mysteries asks “what lies beyond the veil?”.

S07 Ep03: Just Sit There and Finish Your Clams

S07 Ep02: Remove Dirt. Claim Treasure.
Jan 27, 2022
Season 7 of Unsolved Mysteries continues to impress us with 4 strong mysteries. This quotable episode brings us a haunted New Mexico hotel, a drug kingpin dressed like Jeff Bezos, and an obvious treasure shaft.
We are finally back with a new season of Unsolved Mysteries! This episode features an interesting local mystery, a very sweet lost love, and an allegedly not mysterious death.
2021 Holiday Special: Blog About That, B*tch! (Beyond Belief Fact or Fiction)
Dec 21, 2021
Surprised! We got our act together long enough to record a special holiday special for our 5 listeners! Unfortunately, it’s not endorsed by Jonathan Frakes because we can’t afford his Cameo fees.
Unsolved Mysteries season 6 goes out with a bang on a special two-hour marathon episode! So grab your Cheezies and settle in because we have a lot to talk about.
To celebrate our first day back in the “studio” together, we recorded a very special episode of Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction. It is a big day: we are together again in-person, we finally know how to use our recording equipment, and we learn something very shocking about birds.
We finally got to record the episode that Liz wanted to record last time, and it did not disappoint! This episode features our new favorite thing: lost loves…but pets!
Bad news, enemies! We are back from our unexpected hiatus! If you were hoping for an amazing episode of Unsolved Mysteries for our big return, you’ll have to wait until next time.
Normally, we would love a biker mystery. Biker mysteries are full of our favorite things: big hair, over the top 90’s fashion, mustaches. Unfortunately, the biker mystery in this week’s episode of Unsolved Mysteries is full of nothing but sadness.
S6 Ep10: Can Evidence Be Too Damning?
Apr 01, 2021
The mystery of when we will be back has been solved! It’s today. Thanks for being patient with us as we took an unexpected hiatus. This week, we return to discuss some allegedly not mysterious mysteries. Enjoy!
Well, the sound of our voices has made another person want to die, so listen to this podcast at your own risk, I guess. Also, this episode of Unsolved Mysteries sucks, but we still had fun talking about it! CAUTION: this episode contains cackling.
Well hopefully you enjoy when we complain about the thing we’re supposed to love! This week, Unsolved Mysteries brings us yet another bogus treasure (is water real??) and an unexplained death that’s actually super explained.
We are back from our holiday break and have invited friend-of-the-pod, Arden, on the show because we knew she would have a lot of thoughts about Anastasia. No, not the Disney film. The Grand Duchess Anastasia who was murdered along with her family in Russia in 1918… or was she?! We also wax nostalgic about pre-pandemic all-you-can-eat sushi and find out what’s new in spices!
We kind of can’t believe we are kicking off the sixth season of this podcast! Thanks for sticking with us, five listeners! Unfortunately, Unsolved Mysteries starts their season with a bummer of an episode. It’s no Clown Alley, that’s for sure, but we make the best of it!
Our season 5 finale looks a bit different than finales of seasons past, but we make the best of it! We enjoy some Japanese snacks, read some amazing listener stories, and answer some of your burning questions.
You can pre-order our Zine NOW! “Solve Mysteries, B*tches: A Perhaps It’s You Zine” is shipping later this month! Over 30 pages with a color centerfold, it includes fan art, recipes, a crossword puzzle, and much more. Handmade for you by Liz. Order it here: https://perhapsitsyou.wordpress.com/merch/
No, “Rough Justice” is not the title of an adult film, it’s a quote from the one and only Robert Stack! He is in fine form on this, the last episode of season 5, and so are we!
This is the best episode of Unsolved Mysteries we have seen in a minute, which is really saying something considering the big twist in the lost love segment.
We were not able to record a regular episode this week, so we reached way back into the vault to release some special. For our second Patreon episode, we covered Alien Autopsy, the 1995 FOX television special investigating The Alien Autopsy Footage that was allegedly filmed by the US military after the legendary UFO crash near Roswell, New Mexico in 1947.
DISCLAIMER: We mispronounce Jonathan Frakes name a lot in this episode. Don’t @ us.
We were able to fix our terrible audio and re-record this week’s episode, so you don’t have to miss us talking way too much about Halloween candy and speculating as to whether or not Robert Stack invented the grandfather clock. Lucky you!
You know when you open an old trunk that you’ve been storing for a friend for 6 years and find a human skeleton inside? We discuss that common, everyday occurrence and more as we cover an extra mysterious episode of Unsolved Mysteries.
This week’s episode of Unsolved Mysteries is going to give you lots of ideas for your Pinterest vision board: pot farm inspiration, matching outfits for the marauding street gang you want to start, and more!
This week’s episode goes to some strange places: people on Unsolved Mysteries call the cops on water, Lucy Liu has a unique encounter with a ghost, and we discover more gargoyle romance novels!
This episode of Unsolved Mysteries is full of sadness (which is fitting for 2020), but it’s also full of mustaches, so that helps. PS: Our Facebook group voted on the name of this week’s show without context. We think they did a great job!
This week’s episode of Unsolved Mysteries both entertained and frustrated us. If only we were watching a horror movie called Tadpoles Kissing 2: The Reckoning. Oh well.
We are too busy working on our first Patreon episode covering the new Unsolved Mysteries reboot to record a regular episode this week, so we are releasing a special episode from the Perhaps It’s You Vault!
This week, Unsolved Mysteries brings us a rare credibly treasure! I know, we were as surprised as you. We also discuss a bizarre lost love and yet another creepy thing that happened in New Mexico.
S5 Ep14: More Potato Content, Please!
Jul 09, 2020
Don’t worry, we spend very little time talking about potatoes on this week’s episode. We do discuss four fascinating mysteries including a murder by yet another dude who is bad at crimes. We also talk about our thoughts on the new Netflix Unsolved Mysteries re-boot! Be sure to subscribe to our Patreon if you want to hear all out thoughts on the USM revival.
We are back! Bringing you all the Unsolved Mysteries and snack content you could want! This week, we bring you the infamous murder of Elizabeth Short, also known as The Black Dahlia. We also discuss a wild West ghost and some favorite novelty snacks!
Once again, this pandemic has taken a lot out of us, so we decided to skip recording a regular episode this week. Instead, we are releasing a special episode from the Perhaps It’s You Vault!
We want to give a HUGE thank you to our 5 listeners for all of your support. It really means the world to us. This week, Unsolved Mysteries serves us three mysteries including a sweet but very detailed lost love. We also meet possibly the world’s worst liar!
Stand with Bre. Learn about Breonna and her tragic murder, sign the petition, and find ways to help in the fight for justice: https://www.standwithbre.com/
Hi, 5 listeners. As you know, this podcast is based in South Minneapolis. You may have seen South Minneapolis in the news lately. This week, in addition to our usual content, we discuss the murder of George Floyd, police violence, the protests here in Minneapolis, and ways you can help.
We are donating all of the money we receive through Patreon in the month of June to Migizi. If you would like to help Migizi rebuild, you can donate here:
This week, we we are joined by Rob Kristoffersen from the Our Strange Skies podcast! Rob talks about his favorite UFO mystery, which is featured on our latest episode of Unsolved Mysteries.
This week, we question Robert Stack’s assessment of a baby stealing operation as a “questionable enterprise” and discuss a museum that is haunted by a grumpy ghost.
We hope you’ll join our true crime/pickled onion crossover Facebook group, My Favorite Pickled Onion! No, quarantine hasn’t gotten to us… why do you ask?
This week’s episode is dedicated to Carol. Thank you for listening to our show.
We may or may not have recorded this episode twice (who’s to say). We are just that dedicated to bringing you some uplifting Unsolved Mysteries content during this dark time. Enjoy! We hope our listeners and BD Wong are staying safe!
Patreon Preview: The Mothman of Point Pleasant
Apr 02, 2020
This pandemic has taken a lot out of us, so we decided to skip recording a regular episode this week. Instead, we are releasing a special episode from the Perhaps It’s You Vault! The Facebook group voted, and the winner is: The Mothman Of Point Pleasant! We hope you enjoy!
Wow, things sure have changed a lot in a week. The world around us really feels like it’s falling apart, but we still sat down to record our Unsolved Mysteries Podcast! Because, look, we are all gonna start getting bored pretty soon.
A note: this week, we recorded remotely for the first time. We plan to continue recording regular episodes as long as we can. We appreciate your patience as we fine tune this “social distance podcasting” thing. We hope our 5 listeners and BD Wong are staying healthy and finding reasons to cackle during this very difficult time.
S5 Ep1: Don’t Worry We’re Solving Mysteries
Mar 12, 2020
Season 5 is off to a great start! This episode of Unsolved Mysteries features a fascinating missing person case, a pretty legit UFO mystery, and the wildest death we’ve ever heard of.
To celebrate the end of season 4, we invited friend-of-the-pod, local paranormal expert, and poet Kara on the show! We hope you enjoyed season 4 and are as excited about season 5 as we are!
See ya never, season 4! Our last regular episode of this season is out today! And, look, we aren’t here to tell you what to do with the millions of dollars you stole from a crappy armored car. Spend it on drugs and investments! No judgement here.
This week we bring you a very special episode in which we name as many animals as we can think of and speculate as to how Noah could have possibly gotten them on his ark. How did he know that crocodiles were different than alligators? Who wrestled a gorilla onto that boat? Were ducks just on their own? what about the newts? This mystery contains multitudes!
S4 Ep20: Let Your Conscience Be Your Guide (100th Episode!)
Nov 28, 2019
It’s the 100th episode of Perhaps It’s You! And this episode could not be more perfectly timed because on this Thanksgiving day we are thankful for our amazing listeners who support this weird podcast that’s improved our lives in every conceivable way
Sometimes in podcasting, life gets in the way, and you have to take a week off because schedules just wouldn’t line up. This is one of those times, but we still have an episode for you! This is a preview of the kind of awesome content you receive when you sign up for our Patreon! We covered the wild world of Zak Bagan’s Ghost Adventures in this bonus episode. Enjoy!
S4 Ep13: Crimes in the Past Were Just Crafts
Oct 03, 2019
In this lucky episode 13 we realize that we could have done crimes in the past–they were just crafts! Stay for the end when Liz shares a personal ghost story!
This week’s episode of Unsolved Mysteries could definitely be described as vaguely mysterious and we, for one, are here to solve some vaguely mysterious mysteries.
We had to take the week off from Unsolved Mysteries to work on a special project, so we decided to give you a taste of the kind of extra content you receive if you become a Patron of our weird little podcast! For this episode, we watched the Netflix documentary about the flat earth “movement.” Enjoy!
S4 Ep10: Living Life from One Shoulder Pad to Another
Sep 05, 2019
We prayed to Satan for a paranormal mystery, and he came through! This week, we discus the Belgium “UFO Wave,” which makes up for it’s lack of waffles by being extremely convincing.
This week, we invited friend-of-the-pod, Gretchen (and Liz’s former boss at a robot store- not as cool as it sounds) on the show to discuss season 4, episode 7! We learn that our podcast is where friendships go to die.
S4 Ep6: Men Being the Absolute Worst Part 2
Jul 25, 2019
Remember how we said last week that basically any episode of Unsolved Mysteries could be called “Men Being the Absolute Worst”? Well, it turns out, we were more right about that than we thought because, this week, the men get even worse! Fortunately, a man with great sideburns rows in to redeem his kind at the end of the episode. We won’t even send him to the moon.
Yes, we admit- this title could apply to nearly all of our episodes, but some of the dudes in these Unsolved Mysteries segments are particularly bad. If pianos suddenly fell from the sky along their paths, we wouldn’t be upset about it.
Last week, we were forced to eat our words when it comes to people running away to start a new life. This week, it’s amnesia! Did “Tyler” really experience something that made him completely forget who he is? Have we been wrong about everything? Is next week’s episode going to feature someone who finds a treasure?
This week’s episode of Unsolved Mysteries contains one of the most interesting mysteries we’ve ever covered and one of the most boring. If only the extra-long “Mysterious Legends” mystery was about a Yeti, but it is actually a snooze-inducing Civil War story. Stick it out, though! Because the rest of the episode is a wild ride!
We are back! After a short break to rest-up, we are diving back into Unsolved Mysteries! Season 4 hits the ground running with a trifecta of an episode: aliens, satanic panic, and lost loves!
To celebrate the end of season 3, we invited everyone’s favorite voice crush back on the show to read your real-life spooky stories! We hope you enjoyed season 3 and are as excited about season 4 as we are!
This week, we invited our friend, Annie, on the show to help us send off season 3! Annie teaches us so much: like how to make a handful of dollars selling lollipops to drunk people at bars, and that there is a better D.A.R.E. song out there. Don’t do drugs, kids! Unless you’re Robert Stack on your yacht or, actually, anyone- who cares.
In this episode of Unsolved Mysteries we learn about prohibition agent turned detective, Elliot Ness and are left wondering why they didn’t let Robert Stack play him in the reenactments!
This week, we talk about a mysterious death that is actually mysterious! We also the interesting “Cash-Landrum” UFO incident, but everything goes downhill from there.
Samantha wasn’t able to be on the podcast this week because she is rudely at a work conference. Fortunately, someone else lives in Liz’s house and was kind enough to come on the show! (No it’s not Curtis, that was last week’s episode).
Liz is back from ghost hunting in New Orleans, and we are coming at you with a brand new Unsolved Mysteries content! Unfortunately, there are no ghosts in the episode, but there is a healthy dose of misogyny and racism! It’s so bad it even makes pod dog Curtis mad!
Hero Dog Pupcast 2: In Which We Learn About Pigeon Fanciers
Feb 14, 2019
We take a break from Unsolved Mysteries this week to talk about some hero pups! Okay, one hero pup and a hero pig… and a hero cat… and a hero pigeon. Yes we know this is called the “Pupcast,” but did you know there is a Racing Pigeon Hall of Fame?!
This week, we continue to up the glamour in our lives. This time celebrating Samantha’s birthday in style with a heart-shaped baguette, Polar Water floats, and artisan desserts. If only this episode of Unsolved Mysteries was as good as our nosh…
Inspired by a certain corset-making recluse, we have decided to up the glamour in our lives, so we sat down to record this week’s episode with plates of french toast sticks and champagne floats. Yes, french toast sticks are glamorous to us. As we indulge in our newfound glam, we talk about a serial killer with killer sideburns and a woman who either knows how to communicate with aliens or has a busted camera.
This week’s episode is full of mystery, voodoo, and wealthy corset-makers turned recluses (okay, there’s only one of that last one, but Liz hopes to follow in her glamorous footsteps someday).
This week, we are outraged by a story of horrifying injustice and Robert Stack unimpressed by art from beyond the grave. Listen to the beginning for an exciting update to our Patreon rewards!
This week, we meet Sheriff Lumpkin. Surprisingly, Sheriff Lumpkin is not cartoon bear in a police uniform. We also brainstorm some creative ways for a group of nuns to reach their choir loft (we are full of helpful information).
2018 Holiday Special: Local Ghost Stories
Jan 03, 2019
Happy Solstice, Mystery Solvers! We decided that the best way to ring in the New Year and to celebrate the holidays was to invite Friend-of-the-Pod, Rochelle over to get wine drunk and read obscure local Minnesota ghost stories. Enjoy!
Hero Dog Pupcast 1: In Which Liz Learns about Balto
Dec 20, 2018
Guess what! We loved last week’s hero dog stories so much that we decided to dedicate an entire minisode series to them! In this mini episode, we tell you about some heroic animals that all deserve statues.
Today is a very special day at the Perhaps It’s You studio because we are talking HERO DOGS! That’s right: this week’s episode of Unsolved Mysteries features a heart-warming “Sci-Med” segment about a dog who saves his owners life. Is this segment only a tiny part of the larger episode? Yes. Do we find various ways to drag it out for as long as possible? Also yes. Are we now a dog podcast? Possibly.
You know who was a terrible pilot? Amelia Earhart! Oh, you didn’t know that? You thought she was a brilliant pioneer in the field of aviation and one of the most accomplished women of her time and in history? Well Unsolved Mysteries has news for you. Listen as we discuss the alleged truth surrounding the mysterious disappearance of Amelia Earhart and her navigator, Fred.
We are back talking about Unsolved Mysteries and we hope you check your expectations on this one because it is full of boredom and racism! In true Perhaps It’s You fashion, though, we make the best of it!
Happy Thanksgiving! Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction
Nov 22, 2018
Happy Turkey Day, Mystery Solvers! Because we are so thankful for your love and support, we recorded an extra special episode where we watched our 2nd favorite cheesy 80’s TV show: “Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction” with the man with the name we can never pronounce, Jonathan Frakes. If you are following along at home, we watched season 2, episode 2. Stick around to the end because we discover which stories are fact and which are fiction live on the air!
Buckle up, friends, because Unsolved Mysteries is diving into a BIG mystery this week: twins! What’s mysterious about twins, you ask? Well, tune in to find out!
In this week’s episode we discuss a missing ship, we learn about a treasure that probably (definitely) doesn’t exist, and we hate on the rich AKA our favorite past time.
Sorry, everyone, we are quitting the Unsolved Mysteries podcasting biz to start a candy review podcast. In our final episode, we discuss a segment in which Robert Stack is amazed by computers, a heart-warming lost loves, and an unexplained death that is super explained. We’re kidding about the candy podcast: no one is going to listen to us chew on Australian licorice– except you…right now.
S3 Ep3: The Pressure to have a Mustache Was Great
Oct 25, 2018
Welcome to Perhaps It’s You, an unofficial America’s Most Wanted re-watch pod–oh wait, this is an Unsolved Mysteries podcast… we got confused because this week’s episode brings us four segments about wanted criminals! “Wanteds” are definitely no “Lost Loves” but we make the best of it!
This week Unsolved Mysteries takes us on a trip to the Bermuda Triangle, or as Robert Stack (and no one else) calls it, “The Triangle of Death.” This episode also brings us two Lost Loves, which you might think would be our dream, and you would be right if they weren’t so freaking sad.
We are back, Mystery Solvers! Thank you for being patient as we took a brief hiatus to deal with real life. This week, we kick off season 3 with an episode that really has it all: UFO crash landings, lost loves, satanic arsonists, xenophobic firefighters with questionable choices in facial hair. Buckle up! Because Perhaps It’s You is back!
1 Year Anniversary Special: Yo-Ho-Ho and a Bottle of Dumb
Sep 06, 2018
The Perhaps It’s You Podcast is turning one! It has been a wild and fun ride, and we are so thankful for all of our amazing five listeners. To Celebrate a whole year of Unsolved Mysteries podcasting, we recorded a special episode on something that has nothing to do with Unsolved Mysteries: Bar Rescue. That’s not to say that there aren’t mysteries in this particular television show, because there certainly are. For example: who thought that opening a pirate bar in a suburb of Washington DC was a good idea? Is it ever smart to use a “z” instead of an “s” to denote plurality (Unsolved Mysteryz?)? Why does Jon Taffer talk so loud? And why didn’t the owner of Piratz Tavern in Silver Spring Maryland just become a dominatrix?
This week, we answer some of your burning questions. Will we go to your house for nachos? Who has the best butt on Unsolved Mysteries? Tune in for all the answers!
To celebrate the end of season 2, we invited friend-of-the-pod, Kara, back on the show to read your real-life spooky stories! We hope you enjoyed season 2 and are as excited about season 3 as we are!
S2 Ep19: Assassinations Were all the Rage
Aug 16, 2018
We really didn’t want to talk about the RFK mystery in this week’s episode. In fact, we have been complaining about it all season! Could we have spent all that time researching Robert Kennedy and the conspiracies surrounding his death? Sure. But what we did instead was make Liz’s husband do it! Today, Mac joins us to make this show sound like a smart and thoughtful history podcast.
What time is it? It’s lake monster time! This episode of Unsolved Mysteries was full of things we love: lost loves, murder mysteries, old ladies scamming people with fruit cake, and a surprise story of a mysterious lake monster.
This week, we invited friend-of-the-pod, Arden, on the show to help us discuss a psychic past life mystery. We marvel at Unsolved Mysteries’ ability to make horses seem creepy just by slowing down the film. We learn about traditional Norwegian card reading, and we propose the next big television sensation: “Ghost Slut”!
It is the episode we’ve all been waiting for! (Okay, WE have been waiting for it, anyway). This week, we cover crop circles! What could be causing this mysterious phenomenon? Could it be whirlwinds? Exceptionally powerful helicopters? Flying saucers? Or could it be something far stranger… and far cuter…
This week’s episode of Unsolved Mysteries was very mysterious! We discuss the still-unsolved disappearance Cynthia Anderson, a legal secretary in Ohio, and the spooky murder of three ATV drivers on Tennessee’s Signal Mountain. We also enjoyed the wholesome story of the West End Baptist Church explosion. Yes, we know it’s strange to call a church explosion “wholesome,” but trust us on this one- you will love it.
Bonus! June Patreon Episode! Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction
Jul 04, 2018
Surprise! We are releasing our June Patreon episode to everyone as a special bonus! In June, we watched the very Unsolved Mysteries-adjacent 90’s television show “Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction?” We had so much fun recording this episode, that we decided to release it to all of you! We hope that this will give you a little taste of what Patrons of Perhaps It’s You get every month. Contributors at any level get access to at least 1 bonus episode each month. You can subscribe at http://www.patreon.com/perhapsitsyou
Tonight on Unsolved Mysteries: a Christmas special that is so sad it will make you want to die! Okay, that’s not how Robert Stack opened the episode we watched for this week’s podcast, but it might as well have been. Do you remember when we decided to do a special Christmas podcast in which we talked about a bunch of Forensic Files episodes that had some holiday element to them? Do you also remember how that was a terrible idea because Forensic Files is about brutal murder, and that is the opposite of Christmas cheer? Yeah well Unsolved Mysteries did a bummer Christmas special first! …And we are here to tell you all about it.
This week, we enjoyed a very true crime-heavy Unsolved Mysteries episode! We discuss the not-so-mysterious death of a woman, the heartbreaking but fascinating case of a black market baby stealing operation, and a “wanted” mystery with a crazy twist.
This week, we get another variety pack of mysteries: fraud, treasure (sort of), a lost loves that didn’t make us want to die, and a mystery featuring our new favorite super hero– The Porpoise of Justice.
SO. Do you remember when we told you that the brutal murder of Jay Cook and Tanya Van Cuylenborg was the saddest mystery ever? Do you also remember last week when we told you that, actually, the Sharon Stevens lost love segment was the saddest mystery? Yeah, we were wrong. So. Very. Wrong. This week, we cover a little bit of everything: serial killers, WWII, spies, spooky trench coats! We also recap a heartbreaking, but also heartwarming, story of Holocaust survivor, Stephan Ross (formerly Szmulek Rozental). This story made us feel all the feelings. If you rewatched the episode in preparation for this podcast, we will go through it together!
The bar for “saddest mystery” keeps getting higher and higher, and yet Unsolved Mysteries somehow continues to leap over it. This week, we do out best to cover the sad story of a woman searching for the only people to ever show her an ounce of kindness. If that wasn’t bad enough, Liz has to discuss the sport we know the least about (which is a competitive category), boxing!
We have finally broken the crappy mystery curse! This week, we get to review a delightful episode of Unsolved Mysteries that includes fortune teller fraud , an eccentric “Lost Heirs,” and a mystery from our very own Minnesota! The mysteries are interesting ad cute, and they reminded us why we love Unsolved Mysteries.
We are taking next week off, but we’ll be back the following week!

It should come as a surprise to no one that we are less than thrilled to be covering a 2-part marathon of an Unsolved Mysteries segment about Hitler’s right hand man, Rudolf Hess. Before we even got to this episode, we screwed something up by mistakenly referring to him as “Herman Hesse” in our last episode. Herman Hesse, as you probably know, is the German who wrote Siddhartha NOT the German who helped conspire to murder millions of Jews. So clearly we can’t be trusted with a WWII mystery. Because of that, we invited resident history nerd, Rochelle, onto the show. Rochelle helps us keep our Hesses straight and shares some of her WWII knowledge.

The episode of Unsolved Mysteries we watched for this week’s show includes a nice booty! Unfortunately, that’s about the only good thing we have to say about it. Regardless, in true Perhaps It’s You fashion, we make the best of a blah episode! This week, you will find out what happens when Samantha watches Unsolved Mysteries after a whole two beers, you will learn about some unexplained “Ghost Lights” (which are actually super explained), and you’ll hear about a museum that is better than the Museum of Death. Let us know if you think Vampires may have been real in the old days, before they sadly evolved into chickens.

S2 Ep4: The Actor Who Played His Mustache
Apr 25, 2018
We apologize for the brief hiatus, but you know what they say: “when life gives you April blizzards, you put off your podcast for a week” (it’s a regional saying). We are back with a bit of a blah episode, but no dogs die! So it’s practically the best one yet. This week, we discover an exciting new mustache style, discuss a very sweet lost love, and contemplate what we would write in our “open in the event that something bad happens to me” note.

Okay, look–have we called multiple Unsolved Mysteries segments our “least favorite mystery” ever? Are we constantly saying how every lost treasure story is the worst one yet? Did we claim to hate Alcatraz more than anything else in the world? Yes. But we take all that back! Because this week we cover the biggest bummer in the history of bummers: a mystery in which a bunch of dogs are killed. Wait! Before you close your podcast app, we promise that we have done our best to lighten the mood and to point out all of the happy moments in this awful story (all the cute dogs!). Plus, we cover a ridiculously stupid scam and a “lost at sea” mystery that would make a great movie!

This week, In honor of Easter, we reveal how little we know about Christianity as we explore the miracle of the blinking crucifix. That’s right! A crucifix BLINKED (allegedly). If that’s not miracley enough for you, we also discuss a miraculous oil stain, why the virgin Mary appears to us so often in grilled cheeses, and the many “miracles” in the “hit” ICP song by the same name (I bet you never thought you’d hear juggalos discussed on an Unsolved Mysteries Podcast). But hold onto your pants because that’s not all! We also marvel at the creative camera-work the USM team used to hide human genitalia in a mystery at a nudist camp.

The Stack is back and so are we! Perhaps It’s You is diving in to season 2, and this is a big one: Roswell! What fell from the New Mexico sky? Did the US government cover-up the discovery of alien crash victims? Who dressed Robert Stack in that awful tie? There are important mysteries to solve in this episode!

To celebrate the end of season 1 and the beginning of season 2, we bring friend-of-the-pod Kara on to tell a few of her spooky stories! Kara also helps us tell some of your spooky stories (and holy mother of Robert Stack are they ever spooky!). We are also treated to 3 true close encounters of the alien kind via fellow podcaster, Rob of the “Our Strange Skies” podcast.
S1 Ep 24: Unsolved Mysteries-ish Things
Mar 14, 2018
Perhaps It’s You is back with a regular episode and it is the last episode of season 1! We can hardly believe that we have gotten this far. We are looking forward to starting season 2, but first we have to tackle the longest treasure segment ever. Are you sitting down? Samantha actually enjoyed it! This episode also features a surprise cameo from a certain late 80’s/early 90’s boy band (yup you read that right).

We did it! We somehow managed to overcome our staggering lack of audio engineering ability to bring you a collaboration with the awesome hosts of the “Uncovering Unexplained Mysteries” podcast! Mike and Josh are the OGs of the Unsolved Mysteries podcast genre (yes we made up our own genre). As well as being super fans of our favorite show, Mike and Josh are hilarious, super nice, and top notch podcasters. In fact, we give them 5/5 Robert Stacks! Enjoy!

This week Liz tactfully navigates the minefield that is Unsolved Mysteries’ handling of gender issues. We also discuss possibly the dumbest feud in the history of feuds that (of course!) ended in murder. This is a great episode of Unsolved Mysteries…that they ruined with a treasure segment that is far too long (yes, 1 second of treasure segment is too much treasure segment). Still, we loved this episode, which gives us two of the most interesting true crime cases we’ve heard yet. Enjoy and don’t forget to tag us in your #UnsolvedValentines!

This week’s episode features Billy the Kid! Except that it’s not really about Billy the Kid at all; it’s about some dude named Brushy who probably wasn’t Billy the Kid and maybe should have considered calling himself “Bumpy” instead.

This week we learn that Samantha hates near death experience stories almost as much as she hates treasure hunting stories. However, if she ever finds herself standing at the threshold of heaven, she’ll make sure to ask who killed JonBenet Ramsey. Liz will ask if Bigfoot is a ghost. She’s written it on her hand, so she’ll never forget.

Perhaps It’s You is covering a very special mystery this week: Bigfoot! And the ladies are tackling some important Sasquatch-related questions, such as: what is the plural of “Bigfoot”? What would a Bigfoot band be called? Are we really just all being pranked by a guy named Dan? All that plus four more mysteries in this week’s episode!

Can you hear the ominous music playing? It can only mean one thing: The Alcatraz Situation has arrived. Fortunately, Friend of the Pod and Resident History Buff, Rochelle, drops by to improve the quality of this episode a thousand percent.

S1 Ep 15: And Let’s Never Speak of the Orphan Train Again
Dec 20, 2017
So this week’s episode of Unsolved Mysteries is… well, not great. But Samantha and Liz make the best of it! Tune in to hear about very mysterious letters showing up in a shopping mall and a woman with (maybe?) miraculous psychic abilities. Also, yes, the American tragedy known as the Orphan Train, but we’re not talking about that ever again.

So to thank you for all your support, we decided to bring you a special Thanksgiving bonus episode featuring one of the most binge-worthy shows around (after Unsolved Mysteries, of course!): Forensic Files! A guy called “Fumbles” can’t figure out how to hold things and rob banks at the same time, Unsolved Mysteries attempts science by equating mannequin heads to human heads, and one man’s wife doesn’t think its weird that she’s tripping over piles of his stolen cash every day.

S1 Ep 10: It’s Not Most Valuable Guy with a Mustache
Nov 15, 2017
The day has come! Samantha and Liz finally get to talk about an unsolved alien mystery! Does it kind of seem like alien abduction stories are made up by people trying not to get in trouble for missing work? Sure. Do recovered memories through hypnotic regression seem kind of fake? Yes. But… aliens! Also in this episode, Unsolved Mysteries returns to the dark ages and accuses a woman of marrying the devil in her husband’s tool shed and a the ladies discuss whether or not the Minnesota State Fair grounds might be haunted by birds.

The Stack is back, and so are the ladies of the Perhaps It’s You podcast! Samantha and Liz return from their brief Halloween hiatus to discus one of the best Unsolved Mysteries segments of all time: the magic rock! Hear how bad graffiti helped one family rise from the ashes to become strip mall tycoons. That and more in this week’s episode!

Happy Halloween! Samantha and Liz are taking a break from mysteries this week to bring you a super duper Halloween special! After watching a very informative History Channel documentary, the ladies recount what influenced modern Halloween and laugh at the “controversy” surrounding this popular holiday. They also discuss who they think should host the re-boot of Unsolved Mysteries and finish up by reading some spooky listener stories.

Liz and Samantha know that you’ve been on the edges of your seats waiting for Son of Sam part two! Were the Son of Sam killings carried out by a satanic cult? You have to tune in to find out! (Or do you?) In this jam-packed episode, the ladies also discuss a super haunted Inn, find the ugliest hat of all time, and discover that they might actually be Satanists themselves.

Did Hillary Clinton push two boys in front of a train? Does Charlie Sheen have a cache of stolen sports memorabilia? Tune in to find out!
