How would you describe the smell of Earth (and Earthlings) to someone who's never been? Today I chat with olfactive artist Eva Petrič, whose line of fragrances are meant to do just that. Each scent bottles a different fragrant aspect of life on Earth and the humans who inhabit it. And sure, we [Earthlings] can buy them at Bergdorf's, but these fragrances are not meant solely for our consumption; they're messages in a bottle meant for whoever discovers them...in whichever galaxy that may be. Kelly Jones, Founder of Kelly + Jones fragrances, is in the Perfume Room today! We love a controversial perfume line and this one is no exception. While wine aficionados frown upon and often go as far as actually forbidding wearing fragrance in the tasting room, Kelly + Jones fragrances are specifically meant for exactly that! Each scent is inspired by the tasting notes of a different wine or spirit and is best enjoyed alongside said wine or spirit. No – the Kelly + Jones Chardonnay scent doesn’t smell like you spilled a glass of a buttery California chard all over your clothes (though you know I’d wear that); instead it has notes of amber, oak, orris, and apple meant to highlight a said California Chard’s woody, vanillic and fruity qualities...
