The privately funded project registers at around $300,000 and puts dedicated Wudu ablution stations in both the men’s and women’s concourse restrooms. Officials say it’s about keeping floors dry and sinks intact after travelers wash their feet in regular fixtures. Completion is targeted for the end of the year. Terminal D handles the bulk of international traffic. Similar stations already exist at places like Chicago O’Hare and Houston Bush, and DFW has had limited ablution facilities near its interfaith chapel for years. This expands the practice into the main restrooms. The filing calls it basic infrastructure for safety and sanitation. Plenty of Americans are asking a different question: why special plumbing for one ritual while every other traveler just uses the sinks? This isn’t about private funding or wet floors alone. Wisconsin Democrats just rejected the socialist who wanted to cancel Thanksgiving and abolish the police. David Crowley, the Milwaukee County executive and late establishment choice, narrowly beat Francesca Hong by just over 3,200 votes out of more than 787,000 cast. Polls had shown the Democratic Socialist of America member leading by double digits heading into Election Day. Hong, who once posted, “Cancel Thanksgiving. Should have done this in 1621,” and declared, “Police exist to uphold white supremacy. Defund then abolish,” had been walking those statements back hard in the final stretch.
