    John 13:21-38

    Title: The Divine Whistleblower.

Theme: God will expose the enemy and use His tactics to accomplish His purpose.

Point: The work of the devil triggers the sovereign saving work of God through His Son.

Probing Question: Do you see the enemy's work as an opportunity for God to be Glorified?

Introduction: Definition of a Whistleblower, the exposer of wickedness or sin.

Transitional Sentence: Here, today, we will see God use Satan to kick start redemption.

    Outline:

    I. Christ Exposes His Enemy. (v.21-27)

    a. Jesus exposes the betrayer to the disciples and calls him to do the job quickly.

Theological Concepts = The Love of Christ, The Omniscience of Christ, The Deity of Christ.

God knows the heart of men and in due time will expose them at the proper time.

II. Christ Explains His Purpose. (v.28-35)

    a. Jesus gives the end results of what would happen because of the betrayal.

Theological Concept = Submission to the Will of God, God the Son, God's Timing.

God uses the evil in this world to bring about good for His glory, you can't stop God's Glory.

III. Christ Exhorts His Followers. (v.36-38)

    b. Christ commands us to love one another, which demonstrations a true disciple.

Theological Concept = Sovereign Christ, Commands of Christ, Encouragement of Christ.

The Lord calls us all to Love because this will mark us as His true Disciples and we will need it.

Conclusion: Listen, Jesus will expose our enemies, He will reveal not only their sin, but our sin, and even when the enemy is working, God will use it to bring glory to himself. God knows the hearts of all mankind and thus was the reason for sending His son Jesus Christ. He has revealed His purpose and that is the cross of Christ, that He would glorify the father through accomplishing redemption for mankind. Because of the work that Christ is going to do he requires us to love one another, to show the world what a true disciple looks like and that is by the love that we have for one another. No matter our circumstances let us be reminded of His victory, let us strive to be reminded of His faithfulness in the face of wickedness, and let us not become prideful and unwilling to repent of our sins and be deceived like Judas, but rather repent and embrace Christ and His work on the Cross that we might have life and walk in victory.
