Millions of people first learned about Trevor Moore as a founding member and the leader of the sketch comedy group The Whitest Kids U’ Know. The troupe’s self-titled sketch show ran for 5 seasons on IFC and its videos have accumulated over 100 million views on YouTube. Moore went on to release 2 solo comedy specials with Comedy Central, his debut comedy music album "Drunk Texts To Myself" and his 2018 special and album "The Story Of Our Times." Moore’s relationship with Comedy Central recently continued with Season 2 of his Comedy Central digital series "The Trevor Moore Show."
Those accolades shown above were far from all Trevor Moore accomplished within entertainment. With Adam Small he co-created the Disney Channel shows "Just Roll With It" and "Walk The Prank," also having directed multiple episodes of both programs. Moore’s IMDb credits also included other work as a producer and composer, so one can only imagine how many simultaneous projects Moore had going on as a star, producer and/or writer at any given time.
On June 23, 2021, I spoke with Trevor Moore via Zoom, about 6 weeks before his tragic, untimely passing. This was one of my favorite interview experiences of recent memory, and Moore also took the time to speak with me post-interview and write to me afterwards to thank me. This one hits hard, to say the least.
