Ovies and Giglio get into why Frank Reich and the Panthers front office being upfront about elevating Young to QB 1, and ultimately setting him up for his best chance to succeed, is a breath of fresh air given how the previous coaching staff went about business.

Meanwhile, #WakeForest made it to the #collegeworldseries for the first time since 1955. While the ACC is a great baseball conference, the #DemonDeacons have been on a heater all year long thanks to their pitching and middle of the lineup. Can it sustain itself against more #SEC competition?

Show notes

#NorthCarolina Governor Roy Cooper joined Joe Ovies and Joe Giglio to discuss a wide range of topics. Is he ready to sign NC's #gambling bill into law? How do casinos play into the future of sports wagering in the state? Other states, like California, are introducing bills that would allow #collegefootball footballs to be compensated with a share of revenue -- could North Carolina follow? Would he get involved if the #ACC dissolved, leaving #NCState and UNC #tarheels to find new conferences? Plus, Cooper laments the end of the #CarolinaHurricanes season. He's very optimistic they can run it back next season.

Meanwhile, the PGA Tour and LIV announced a merger. It's yet another example where Wu-Tang was right - C.R.E.A.M.

O+G #15: Taylor Swift Theory of NBA Doom | Would you rather be an NC State or South Carolina fan? Jun 05, 2023

Could it be that Wake Forest is benefiting simply by not having played an SEC team yet? Plus, an update on North Carolina's sports wagering bill.

Show notes

Elliot Cadeau, a five-star point guard, will reclassify and play this upcoming season for North Carolina. Ovies and Giglio like the move by head coach Hubert Davis, who has taken full advantage of the transfer portal to remake the Tar Heels roster. If Cadeau is as advertised, RJ Davis and Armando Bacot will absolutely welcome what his pass-first play will bring to the table.

Carolina Hurricanes owner Tom Dundon also joined Ovies and Giglio to recap their season and how the front office will handle key contract decisions this summer. Sebastian Aho will be a priority.

Plus, learn about the PGA's Korn Ferry Tour event at Raleigh Country Club this weekend.
