Chris Gray has been one of the most dynamic players in college lacrosse history, and he’s hoping to do the same in the PLL. Fresh off setting the NCAA Division I Men’s all-time scoring mark, the North Carolina star was chosen second overall in the PLL’s College Draft.

After transferring from Boston U, where he emerged as a goal-scoring threat for the Terriers, Gray found a home in Chapel Hill. He could leave college lacrosse with the 2022 Tewaaraton Award, but he’s more focused on the impact he made on his teammates.

Casey Powell is a trailblazer in the game of lacrosse, both on and off the field.

A Carthage, N.Y. native, he changed the Carthage High School program for the better under coach Kirk Ventiquattro. He wore the No. 22 at Syracuse and quickly became one of the greatest lacrosse players in college lacrosse history. He then became one of the faces of the newly founded Major League Lacrosse, starring for the better part of 12 seasons.

Jordan Wolf doesn’t love the limelight, but his play over the past decades has generated plenty of attention. The Philly native starred at Lower Merion (Pa.), the same school as the late Kobe Bryant.

Chris Bocklet’s life changed this January, when he suffered a severe head injury in a longboarding accident. He couldn’t speak. He couldn’t remember his family and friends. He was lucky to be alive.

Zed Williams is understated, even quiet, but nothing about his game matches his personality. Williams, who grew up on the Cattaraugus reservation, has grown into one of the most dangerous offensive threats in professional lacrosse.

In his first season with Whipsnakes LC, Williams led the league in scoring and dropped five fourth-quarter goals to lead his team to a comeback in the PLL title game. Not bad for a PLL rookie. Bryce Wasserman | MLL Championship Edition Jul 30, 2020

Bryce Wasserman is the definition of a late bloomer. The Texas native didn’t even shave until midway through his college career.

In lacrosse, Wasserman watched as players committed by freshman year of high school to play Division I. He waited until his junior year and found a home on the Jersey Shore at Monmouth. He felt like an underdog then, and after 149 points with the Hawks, another challenge awaited.

Wasserman wanted to play professional lacrosse. The summer after graduating from Monmouth, his rights were retained by the Denver Outlaws, but he couldn’t crack a roster. Eventually, he was granted a release and made his debut with the Ohio Machine in 2018.

Now, two years later, Wasserman is one of the biggest stars in Major League Lacrosse. Last week, he won the league’s MVP award after leading the Boston Cannons to the Steinfeld Trophy. He joins Paul Carcaterra to share his journey to the top.

Nat St. Laurent | S3 E17 Jun 09, 2020

Nat St. Laurent knows what it’s like to be a black man in America, and he’s ready to change that experience for the better. The son of a black father and white mother, St. Laurent’s teammates’ comments about his race almost caused him to leave the sport entirely.

St. Laurent eventually came back to the sport when he was a teenager, and built a career out of it. The Ohio Northern men’s lacrosse coach recently took the helm of the PLL’s Redwoods LC. He’s one of the most prominent African American coaches in the game.

Dave Pietramala was Johns Hopkins lacrosse.

Pietramala became one of the best defensemen in the sport’s history while at Homewood Field in the late 1980s, winning the 1987 NCAA title. He learned plenty about himself during that time, and cherished the people he met at Johns Hopkins. Years later, he joined as head coach of the Blue Jays.

Grant Ament’s historic career abruptly ended just weeks ago. Just yesterday, he announced that, despite an NCAA announcement that he may be able to pursue an extra year, he was moving on from Penn State.

Between her illustrious college career at Maryland and her time building a powerhouse at Northwestern, Kelly Amonte Hiller is one of the most successful people in the history of lacrosse.

Hiller won two national championships at Maryland, two gold medals with Team USA and seven NCAA titles as coach at Northwestern. Her resume is one of the best of all-time, but her lacrosse journey is just as unique.

She sat down with Paul Carcaterra for Season 3 Ep. 3 to talk about her lacrosse journey, her life as the girl growing up with active brothers, what went into her decision to accept the Northwestern job and why she thinks the Wildcats are back.

Greg Gurenlian recently retired from lacrosse, leaving behind a legacy of being one of the most illustrious players of all time. The former Penn State star became a star in the MLL, winning MVP honors in 2015.

Lars Tiffany’s lacrosse journey reached its peak on Memorial Day, when his Virginia team won its first national championship since 2011.

The title was a culmination of three years of building for Tiffany and the Cavaliers, who went from the ACC cellar to the pinnacle of college lacrosse. During his press conference, Tiffany was quick to pay homage to the roots of the game.

And it’s fitting. Tiffany grew up near the Onondaga reservation in Upstate New York, playing with Native Americans and working on his father’s bison farm. His love for lacrosse took him to Brown, where he played and later coached.

Kyle Harrison, the son of Morgan State legend Dr. Miles Harrison, had lacrosse in his DNA. He learned the game in the Baltimore suburbs, eventually taking his talents to Johns Hopkins.

Bill Tierney’s name has been intertwined with the game of lacrosse since the 1970s, when he got his start as a player for then-Cortland State. He made his mark during his 21 seasons at Princeton, winning six national championships during his tenure.

Already one of the most legendary coaches in the game’s history, Tierney added to his lore while at Denver in 2015. The Pioneers became the westernmost Division I men’s lacrosse champion by taking down Maryland.
