339. Nursing Uncertainty: The Lucy Letby Case Dec 10, 2025

Show notes

On a quiet summer morning in Chester, a nurse in a tracksuit opened her front door to find detectives waiting. Within minutes, Lucy Letby, the nurse parents trusted with their most fragile infants, was led away in handcuffs. To neighbors, she was the polite young woman who waved from her driveway. To friends, she was giving and kind, the kind of girl who carried spare tampons in her bag in case someone might be in need But inside the Countess of Chester Hospital, prosecutors said, she had become something far darker: a “malevolent presence” who turned lifesaving equipment into murder weapons, leaving a trail of dead and critically injured newborns in her wake And as she climbed into the backseat, doubt lingered as to whether they had captured a killer, or condemned an innocent woman to the role of one.

338. Killer Charm: The Betrayal Of Michele MacNeill Dec 03, 2025

Show notes

Michelle MacNeill, devoted mother of eight, wife, and former beauty queen, led an enviable life. Living in Utah with her husband, Dr. Martin MacNeill, everything looked perfect on the surface, but as we all know, appearances can be deceiving.

Just days after undergoing plastic surgery, Michelle was found dead in her bathtub. Her death was ruled an accident caused by prescription pain medication, but her sister and daughters were skeptical.

Their suspicions would expose the carefully crafted life her husband presented to the world, showing the real darkness behind Martin MacNeill’s perfect image.

337. The St. Louis Package Killer: Gary Randall Muehlberg Nov 26, 2025

Show notes

It all started on March 22, 1990, when 18-year-old Robin Mihan went missing from Cherokee Street in South St. Louis. Although Robin was only eighteen, she already had two children and was battling a drug addiction. To feed her kids and her habit she had begun working as a sex worker along Cherokee Street. On this particular night, Mihan got into a car with a stranger and would never be seen alive again.

Four days later, her body was found inside two mattresses that had been tied around her and dumped along State Highway E.

Then, months later, another discovery.

Just after 9 a.m. on October 5, 1990, two men were cleaning up outside an apartment building near Page Avenue in St. Louis County when one of them noticed a plastic trash can sitting in the grass. A trash bag was pulled tightly over the top, secured with a wire. As they got closer, the smell hit them — the unmistakable smell of death. Thinking it was a dead animal, one of the men unwound the wire. But it wasn’t an animal.

Inside the trash can was the body of a woman. Two women. Two brutal murders. Two bodies were discarded in places where someone hoped they wouldn’t be found. And someone in St. Louis was responsible.

336. Last Dance: The Murder of Roseann Quinn Nov 19, 2025

The brutal murder of a beloved young schoolteacher named Roseann Quinn shocked everyone and made national headlines. With the recent news regarding actress Diane Keaton, who starred in the controversial film adaptation, we felt now was the time to revisit the true story that inspired it all.

The Golden Years Murders with Brew Crime Nov 17, 2025

Show notes

Our good friends, Mike and JT from Brew Crime, join us for November's unsolved crossover.

Today, JT tells us about a terrifying six-year murder spree (1990-1996) targeted at least thirteen vulnerable elderly women in Richmond's West End, creating widespread panic. The case was officially pinned on one killer, but the narrative quickly fell apart: the series was split by a two-year hiatus and featured a pronounced shift from the stabbing homicides of six Black women to the homicides of seven White women.

The case was hastily "closed" for the Phase II victims through the highly disputed confession of a diagnosed schizophrenic with zero forensic links to the crime scenes, leaving the initial wave of brutal stabbings completely unresolved. The official resolution is rooted in systemic failure and alleged racial bias, ensuring the actual killer, or killers, walked free. Source for the Episode

333. Murder by the Book: Jackie Galloway Oct 29, 2025

Show notes

It was a warm Wednesday morning in Sarasota, Florida, on June 12, 1991, when 36-year-old Jackie Galloway was supposed to meet a friend for lunch. The friend arrived at her home expecting an easy midday catch-up. Instead, the front door was unlocked, Galloway’s purse was sitting on the couch, and an unsettling silence filled the house.

Jackie was gone.

By the next afternoon, ten miles from downtown Sarasota, a passerby discovered a body dumped in a vacant lot, wrapped tightly in a beige bedsheet. It was Jackie. Her body was already decomposing under the relentless Florida sun. A noose was still looped around her neck. Her wrists bore the angry marks of bindings, and every one of her artificial nails had been torn away, illustrating the fight that Jackie had put up to try to escape.
