Surviving Death. This week I am talking to Leslie Kean about her book 'Surviving Death: A Journalist Investigates Evidence for an Afterlife'.
Leslie Kean is an independent investigative journalist. In 2010, her book UFOs: Generals, Pilots, and Government Officials Go on the Record was a New York Times bestseller. She helped produce a 2011 documentary based on UFOs for the History Channel. She has been featured on CNN, MSNBC, FOX, The Colbert Report, and NPR and in USA Today, Vanity Fair, US News & World Report, and Columbia Journalism Review, among other media. Beginning in 2012, she contributed a series of articles to the Huffington Post and in 2017 she co-authored a groundbreaking front page story for the New York Times about a previously secret Pentagon program studying UFOs.
“While exploring the evidence for an afterlife, I witnessed some unbelievable things that are not supposed to be possible in our material world. Yet they were unavoidably and undeniably real. Past life regression. This week I am talking to Elizabeth Bodien about her book 'Journeys with Fortune: A Tale of Other Lives'.
We discuss her powerful past life regressions, her automatic writing and her NDE.
Trained in cultural anthropology, Elizabeth Bodien was at first skeptical that past lives even existed, much less that exploring them could heal present-life troubles. Near Death Experience. This week the guest is Dr Peter Fenwick. We talk about Near Death Experiences and his new book 'Shining Light on Transcendence: The unconventional journey of a Neuroscientist'.
What is consciousness? How does it relate to the brain, to the mind? Does it even extend beyond them? And if so, might those experiences — telepathy, extrasensory perception, near death experiences — be called ‘paranormal’ because we can’t explain them by any normal means?
Anything with a firm belief structure, whether it is science or religious faith, limits experimentation and a free spirit of enquiry. I wanted to find a synthesis between these two fields of experience, the measurable and the immeasurable. And it seemed to me that the best – indeed, the only way I could find out more was by finding people who had such immeasurable experiences and studying them.
A few years ago I was introduced by a friend to a philosopher, Alain Forget, who, I was told, had a remarkable ability to give ‘energy. During this ‘energy-giving’ process my friend had been aware of light radiating from him.
My own ego wanted to persuade this unusual man to allow me to put him under the microscope. But in doing so I found myself, perhaps reluctantly at times, under the microscope of his perceptual grasp of human nature. And I realise that it has changed me, and that much of what I thought about myself was not based in reality.
This book tells that story.
Fenwick is a senior lecturer at King's College, London, where he works as a consultant at the Institute of Psychiatry. He is the Consultant Neuropsychologist at both the Maudsley, and John Radcliffe hospitals, and also provides services for Broadmoor Hospital. He works with the Mental Health Group at the University of Southampton, and holds a visiting professorship at the Riken Neurosciences Institute in Japan.
Fenwick is the president of the Horizon Research Foundation, an organisation that supports research into end-of-life experiences. He is the President of the British branch of the International Association for Near-Death Studies.
Fenwick has been part of the editorial board for a number of journals, including the Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Psychiatry, the Journal of Consciousness Studies and the Journal of Epilepsy and Behaviour.

Kathleen Marden, BA, CHt, QHHT is a one of the world’s foremost authorities on UFO contact, the author of several books, a featured on-camera commentator, and an international lecturer. She earned a BA degree in social work and worked as an educator and education services coordinator while attending graduate school. She is a practitioner of regression hypnosis and the Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique. Her interest in UFOs and contact began in 1961, when her aunt and uncle Betty and Barney Hill, had a close encounter and subsequent abduction in New Hampshire’s White Mountains. She is a generational experiencer.
She has been the director of MUFON’s Experiencer Research Team since 2011, expanding her team to 35 members, who offer support, nonjudgmental listening and referrals to experiencers, and is on the board of directors of the Edgar Mitchell Foundation for Research into Extraterrestrial and Extraordinary Encounters (FREE).
Her books are "Captured! The Betty and Barney Hill UFO Experience," "Science was Wrong" and "Fact, Fiction, and Flying Saucers" with nuclear physicist/scientific ufologist Stanton T. Friedman (1934-2019), and "The Alien Abduction Files," with Denise Stoner. Her fifth book “Extraterrestrial Contact: What to Do When You’ve Been Abducted” is now available. She is coauthor of FREE’s “Beyond UFOs: The Science of Consciousness and Contact with Non Human Intelligence.” Her essays have been published in several additional books. In 2018, she and Dr. Don C. Donderi completed a comprehensive study on 516 experiencers. It was her third research study on experiencers. Her 50-page report was published in the “MUFON 2018 International Symposium Proceedings.”
She has given on-camera commentary on the Discovery, History, National Geographic, Destination America, Science and Travel channels and on several documentaries. Most recently, she has appeared on “Ancient Aliens” and “NASA’s Unexplained Files” and the documentary film “Beyond the Spectrum.”
Kathleen has lectured at conferences and colleges across the United States and in Canada, Mexico, Brazil and the UK. She has recently appeared on a video lecture series for experiencers in China.

Near Death Experience. This week I am talking to Gary Wimmer about his book 'A Second in Eternity: A 'Near-Death, Out of Body' Experience and a Voyage Beyond Time and Space, Into the Infinite (Volume 1)'.
A Second in Eternity is the true story about the author’s ‘near-death, out-of-body' experience and everything that led up to it. For no apparent reason, the author suddenly found himself increasingly more aware of and able to ‘see and know’ future events, plus the thoughts and feelings of others, at will and with uncanny clarity. But what started as a trickle, within days became a tsunami of unexplainable precognitive and psychic ability. Unable to stop, filter or understand what he was experiencing, he channeled this phenomenon into accurately forecasting numerous events minutes before they occurred. Friends and family were naturally stunned, as well as concerned for his well being, yet no one could deny what was happening. During a week of vacillating between indescribable euphoria and debilitating fear, he felt the intensity of his perceptions escalating until, as a pedestrian, he was hit head-on by a speeding car.
