#399: Miami Week 9 vs Stanford - We Did Not Land on the Moon Oct 23, 2025
    Show notes

We all come in hot this week, as everyone has so much going on this week, and we try to make sense of all the bad narratives flying around the Canes this week. Ro also opens with news that his daughter now has her license and is out driving around as we speak, with a surprise car coming her way in the next week. And as we head down to Greentree, Toast rolls out the narrative about Miami that he has accepted... which is how different the postseason picture is today versus 10 years ago, and the bye week scheduling shooting them in the foot.

Scoop also takes exception with Shannon Dawson's comments about the running game and how "it is what it is", because he wants more from him than that, largely because Miami continues to run between the tackles and nothing else. And the debate rages about how elementary Miami's offense has been and how easy it was for Louisville to blow up their game plan. And the defense's 26 missed tackles didn't help either. But Ro expects a big bounce back game from Carson Beck, marking the mess against Louisville as an outlier in his college career.

We also try to do the playoff math to figure out if it's more beneficial for Miami to be left out of the ACC Championship Game rather than to go and lose and try to fight for a bid with 2 losses. And everyone lays out their keys to the game - which this week includes spreading out the running game, cutting out the false starts, "execution", tightening up the tackling and rebounding with dominance. Plus amazing audio of the week from a young Jets fan who hates his team, the amazing heist at the Louvre in France and a big round of Pick 'Ems that devolves into a conversation about head coaches.

MIAMI LOSES 24-21 vs Louisville - Orange Bowl Boys Week 8 Recap Show Oct 18, 2025
    Show notes

Well... that sucked. Darth Toast is fully cloaked for a really tough recap show as the Canes were out coached and out played last night in Miami, dropping their first game of the year to Louisville. Of course the blame game takes over right out of the gate, with coaching coming into question and Carson Beck's interceptions ruining the party. Initially we didn't realize how good Louisville really was coming into this game but they showed us quickly how ready for the Canes they were.

Scoop said the linebackers in coverage would be something to pay attention to going into the game, and sure enough Louisville seized on that with their scheme. Roman starts to pull on the strings that got exposed last night, and the biggest one was that Louisville found a way to out-muscle the Canes and push them around. And we get deep into the FOUR interceptions last night from Carson Beck, as Roman is already into the film study and breaks down which of those were truly on Carson and which were just great plays by Louisville.

And the conversations with other Canes fans - and our families - have been wrapped up on that final drive where Carson threw the game-ending pick, and whether Miami should have run the ball to try and tie the game knowing that Beck was not having a good night. Roman is also concerned that Beck's performance last night might have lost him the team's support, and it will be on him to rally, but the Heisman hopes to bed and find a way to win down the stretch. Plus Scoop is concerned that he may have been right about his apprehensions with the wide receivers - because we have two studs, and not much else.

Without making excuses, we have to call out the HORRIBLE officiating from the ACC officials, specifically the lack of offsides calls on Louisville and the call that took a Miami touchdown off the board on the punt return. And we do not understand how such terrible officiating is allowed to continue without any consequence. Miami also has to win out now to even have a shot at the ACC Championship Game, which is a tall order in college football today. All this and a LOT more to digest as we get into the specifics of this back-breaking loss to Louisville... and it's ugly.

#398: Miami Week 8 vs Louisville - Your Covers Better Corner Oct 16, 2025
    Show notes

It's Louisville week in Miami, and the Canes sit once again at #2 in the Top 25. Scoop opens with an interesting question about whether Hetherman or Dawson gets hired away first - and while Dawson's name is in the mix for a lot of jobs, we're not sure if he's got the drive to run a full program. Roman is also a little slighted about the conference bias that a lot of networks put on full display this time of year. And everyone wants to know why Heather Dinich is the only voice that speaks on behalf of the ACC.

Of course James Franklin's dismissal from Penn State, and the sheer mountain of coaching jobs that are (or about to become) available and how the college football world will be completely turned upside down when the dust settles. There are also some great mid-season awards to hand out as four Canes are early All-Americans and high honors for Malachi Toney, Bryce Fitzgerald and others. And then it's all about Louisville as we break down how the Louisville offense will match up with the rolling Miami defense.

We also take fans to "College Football Court" as we air out our grievances with the media and fans so far this season. And Dana White leans in as the newest Miami NIL booster and says he's officially a Canes fan. Plus everyone offers their keys to a Miami win against Louisville, which include checking Miller Moss, letting the defense eat (especially with the front four), the committee of running backs dominating, limiting mistakes and knowing how to finish Louisville late in the game.

Plus Kenny Dillingham's great speech about accountability in college football (which is really rare in today's game) and the Texas A&M fan who blew a .337 during the Florida game. And we close it up with a big round of Pick 'Ems, including Ole Miss vs Georgia, Georgia Tech at Duke, Tennessee at Alabama and of course everyone's pick and score for Louisville at Miami.

#397: Miami Bye Week #2 - A Wonderful Silhouette in the Moonlight Oct 08, 2025
    Show notes

The Miami Hurricanes hit the second bye week of the season as the #2 team in the country, and everyone agrees that the mentality of this team just feels different this season. Some of it has to do with Mario's approach and attitude, and the culture of leaders that have emerged in the locker room. And Toast has some bananas stats that really hammer home this "new" Miami team as compared to last season. Plus there's a debate about our current favorites on this roster, with everyone highlighting different areas of the team.

Roman gets into Carson Beck's performance so far this season, saying it's not the Lamborghini the offense was last season, and how it doesn't need to be for Miami to still be great. And Toast wants to know if the 4th quarter against Florida State gave teams a game plan on how to slow down the University of Miami. Penalties need cleaning up as we look at the coming back half of the schedule, which honestly doesn't do us many favors.

Plus some amazing audio of the week with a UNC student roasting the Tarheels on ESPN, Theo Von getting shot down live on TV during College GameDay, and everyone has thoughts on the WILD Mark Sanchez story. And we close it up with a big round of Pick 'Ems, including Ohio State at Illinois, Alabama at Mizzu, Indiana at Oregon and more!

MIAMI WINS 28-22 AT FLORIDA STATE - Orange Bowl Boys Week 6 Recap Show Oct 05, 2025
    Show notes

We are STATE CHAMPS as we get into the huge 28-22 win on the road in Trailer-hassee last night. Everyone has huge props for the defense yet again, and Ro admits he's struggling right now to find holes in this roster. Toast also breaks down the numbers because the game stats really lean in favor of Florida State, largely due to that 4th quarter run. But Scoop goes back to his second key to the game which was the Canes connecting over the top which Miami did very well last night.

One of the biggest questions from the night was Mario going for it on 4th down late instead of kicking a field goal to stretch the lead, and we all agree that we've wanted Mario to be more aggressive for a while. It was just a weird time for him to try it. Toast also begins the debate about why Miami should be the #1 team in the country after another win against a ranked opponent, as Ohio State and Oregon have both been great but Miami's resume is better.

More props from everyone for Malachi Toney who continues to amaze the college football world with how good he really is at his age. And Carson Beck's performance on the road in a hostile environment was exceptional after he threw 4 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. And we check in with friend-of-the-show Josh Pray who posted that he thinks Miami is the #1 team in the country and hilariously dumps on FSU.

BUT... with all accolades aside, we need to talk about that awful 4th quarter performance, getting outscored 19-0, and Scoop is concerned that this 4th quarter comeback is becoming a trend against the Canes. We also go into our second bye of the season and gear up for Louisville who just lost to UVA.

#396: Miami Week 6 vs Florida State - It's Hug or Gravy Stains Oct 02, 2025
    Show notes

It's officially hate week as everyone comes in hot for the showdown with Florida State! Roman reflects on the obnoxious fans we've seen so far this season, from Notre Dame to Florida... but FSU fans are the biggest Karens this side of the Mississippi. And Toast feels like they are going to get exposed because Norvell fell from 13-1 to 2-10 in just one season. Plus it's pretty funny that the GameDay crew was happier to go to Tuscaloosa as opposed to going to Tallahassee.

We also get into the greatest field storming we've ever seen when FSU lost to Virginia, and whether or not anyone on the show had an issue with the UVA fan who flipped off Thomas Castellanos. Roman also breaks down how Miami can catch FSU being too aggressive trying to stop the run game, even though Toast wants to see them crush the ball down their throat with the run. Audio from Thomas Castellanos saying he thinks FSU's line matches up with Miami's sets everyone off about the disparity in talent between these teams. And no one can make sense of the latest ESPN FPI that has Notre Dame rated higher than Miami.

Everyone weighs in with their Keys to the Game - what it's going to take for Miami to beat FSU at Doak - which include Carson Beck's protection, controlling the line, clean throws from Carson, limiting their explosive plays and not turning the ball over. Then we roll into the Wheel of Topics this week, which includes the viral audio of the FAMU announcer calling the Alabama State plus-sized dancers the "new face of Ozempic," and all the wild audio from Rory McIlroy at the Ryder Cup and how out-of-line the fans were during this event.

And we close it up with a big round of Pick 'Ems, including Texas at Florida, Vanderbilt at Alabama and of course everyone's pick and score for Miami at FSU.

#395: Miami Bye Week Grades - Undisciplined Molly Wankers Sep 24, 2025
    Show notes

It's a big bye week edition of the show, and we open with some bye week grades for the position groups as we gear up for Florida State. We start with the defense and get into all the things they are doing right, and it starts up front with Mesidor and Bain and just how stifling they are to every defense they face. Roman also breaks down what he's seen so far this season froSCIPLINEm Carson Beck, and how he might have struggled in some situations simply because the rivalry games are totally different in Miami compared to when he was at Georgia.

Outstanding grades are handed out to the running back group, a mediocre grade for the use of the tight ends, and surprisingly high marks for the wide receivers who were our biggest question marks coming into the season. And penalties and false starts have dropped the offensive line down from an A to a B

On the defensive side of the ball we start with grading out the new defense coordinator Dr Hetherman who has been superior, spectacular and all the S grades we can hand out... because A just doesn't seem high enough. The same grade applies to the line who continues to totally wreck games. The linebackers score very high also, as does the new-look secondary, and we are stunned to be able to give an A-plus to Carter Davis who continues to boot huge kicks and not miss.

We also round out the show with a fun bye-week game from Jenners, and this week's non-Miami Pick 'Ems!

This episode is presented by Paul Bange Roofing, the Miami Hurricane Team Store, BeatinTheBookie.com & Manscaped.

MIAMI WINS 26-7 VS FLORIDA - Orange Bowl Boys Recap Show Sep 21, 2025
    Show notes

It's the 4-0 Recap Show!! And Toast shows up to the show dressed like a priest to administer last rights to the Florida-UM rivalry game, since it won't be played again possibly ever. We start with the big upsides from the win, which starts with how dominant the Miami defense was against the Gators and how we feel like there are no more fire alarms on that side of the ball. They were incredible last night.

Everyone has big praise for Rueben Bain who showed yet again that he is the best defensive player in the country. And the question is quickly posed about whether we'll be able to hang onto Hetherman into next season if this defense continues to dominate the way they are. Also it seemed like everyone was making excuses for just how bad DJ Lagway has been this year and how the Florida fanbase is trying to put that blame on Billy.

Then we shift over the offense... which, while Fletcher dominated on the ground, seemed to get stuck in the mud for the better part of two quarters. Roman was at the game and comments about just how good the Florida secondary was doing keeping Carson Beck limited to the check-down options. And everyone wants to know why Dawson didn't try to flip the script as the offense got bogged down and struggled, and Roman thinks there is an offensive void that needs to be filled.

The officials also admitted that they made a mistake by blowing the whistle on the Brown run that took a touchdown off the board, and how nothing happened to the refs even though it changed the entire pace of the game. Toast also gauges everyone's confidence level going into the bye week after a game where Miami struggled offensively, especially as they gear up to head to Doke to face the Seminoles in two weeks. And it wouldn't be a show unless we took some time to dance on Clemson's grave after another horrible loss for Dabo.

This episode is presented by Paul Bange Roofing, the Miami Hurricane Team Store, BeatinTheBookie.com & Manscaped.

#394: Miami Week 4 vs Florida with Josh Pray - A Jacory Harris Cosplay Sep 18, 2025
    Show notes

It's Florida week and we're joined by hilarious Gator fan Josh Pray!! Right out of the gate everyone calls for a wild scene this Saturday night at Hard Rock and how angry Mario seems going into this week. Josh also breaks down how lost Gator fans were after Lagway's FIFTH interception against LSU and just how delusional their fan base really is after buying into the offseason lies about Florida. And Josh pulls no punches about how he feels about Carson Beck.

Hilariously Josh goes in on Miami offensive line, does not let up on Carson Beck, and tries to somehow put the Gators up against Miami's talent. Josh also tries to argue that UF has been way more relevant than Miami over the last 20 years, having won a more recent national title, and everyone realizes that all-time bragging rights are on the table because this will be the last head-to-head for a long time to come.

Josh also gets introduced to correspondent IP Daley who drops BOMBS on the Gators and leaves Josh a bit speechless. And Josh breaks out his classic Mike Tomlin impression, only to reveal that Tomlin hates his impression so he decided to retire it for a while but thinks it's time to bring it back. And the debate rages about what fanbase is better.

And after Josh jumps off, we get to the big headlines of the week, including Miami climbing to #4 in the Top 25, and how Miami is going to have a solid plan to really shut down the Gators this weekend. We also take a look back at Hylton Stubbs saying Florida was in a better situation last December after he flipped and how, while he made an overall mistake, we understand that after that Syracuse game it made sense in the moment. Everyone also brings their Three Keys to a Miami win over the Gators, ranging from Carson Beck's performance, the offensive line play, and rattling DJ Lagway.

Audio of the week comes to us from Dabo Swinney, who got a little huffy with the media after a couple of terrible losses to start this season, and Mike McDaniel dropping an all-time quote after the Dolphins embarrassing loss to the Patriots. And a huge slate of Week 4 Pick 'Ems!

MIAMI WINS 49-12 VS USF - Orange Bowl Boys Recap Show Sep 14, 2025
    Show notes

There was a lot of Bull Riding on the CW today as the Canes absolutely dominated the South Florida Bulls. Right out of the gate, Roman has props to Miami OC Shannon Dawson for making the offense feel as though it's not missing a lot by losing Cam Ward to the NFL, which seems like an almost impossible task. Scoop also has roses for the offense, especially after this performance over the Bulls, even if there continues to be a complete lack of tight ends in the scheme.

Rueben Bain showed that he deserves to be in New York as a Heisman finalist, because he continues to be an absolute game wrecker in all scenarios. And Malachi Toney continues to show that he's wise beyond his years after having another monster game. And Toast makes a huge (possible homer-ish) declaration that Miami is already the best team in the country and it's just a matter of a few weeks before the college football world catches up with that idea. He also says that Mario has now gotten Miami to the level of Oregon, as Lanning has held them exactly where they were when they had Mario.

Everyone also starts to look at their season predictions now that Miami is rolling the way they are, and Scoop admits that if he has THIS Miami team all the way they may not lose a game. And will we actually have two guys on the stage in New York with Beck and Bain both owning their individual sides of the ball. Plus we kick around some of the biggest stories and scores from the day, with Georgia coming back to beat Tennessee in overtime, Clemson going down to Georgia Tech in Atlanta, and how our picks shook out headed into Sunday.

00:00 Introduction and Bull Riding Recap

    00:45 Miami Hurricanes' Dominant Performance

01:54 Shannon Dawson's Impact and Offensive Strategy

05:34 Defensive Highlights and Key Players

08:21 Team Depth and Player Development

11:53 The Best Team in the Country?

14:58 Offensive and Defensive Line Strengths

27:15 College Football Landscape and Predictions

    28:05 Season Predictions Revisited

    28:57 Analyzing Interceptions

    32:32 Carson Beck

    34:00 Miami's Defensive Dominance
