Would the Browns really consider trading Jameis Winston? Aug 28, 2024

The Browns trimmed their roster to 53 players on Tuesday afternoon and the first thing that grabbed everyone's attention was the decision to keep four quarterbacks. It added fuel to the fire that one of them could be on the move and it's at least in play that it could be Jameis Winston.

Mary Kay Cabot, Ashley Bastock and Dan Labbe started Tuesday's Orange and Brown Talk podcast by discussing the possibility of moving Winston and if it really is in play, if it would be a repeat of what they did last year when they handed the backup job to Dorian Thompson-Robinson and how long the Browns could let this play out.

Then they go over some of the other areas of the initial 53-man roster and what stood out to them. They talk running backs and D'Onta Foreman's future and talk about Andre Berry making tough decisions on his draft picks.

The Browns will complete their initial 53-man roster by 4 p.m. on Tuesday and they do have some difficult decisions to make as they figure out who to keep and who to let go.

Mary Kay Cabot, Ashley Bastock and Dan Labbe talk through roster projections and some of the decisions the Browns face and what they think they will do on Monday night's Orange and Brown Talk podcast.

They look at the quarterback position and Dorian Thompson-Robinson’s longterm role and if he’s locked up the No. 3 job — and if he could be the No. 2 at some point this season.

They also go through the rest of the roster and talk through some of the difficult decisions.

Bonus pod: Browns-Seahawks postgame recap Aug 25, 2024

The Browns fell to the Seahawks in their preseason finale last night, a game in which starting quarterback Deshaun Watson sat out, as did other key starters. Now it's on to roster cuts, due by Tuesday at 4 p.m., and there are some difficult decisions.

After the game, Mary Kay Cabot, Ashley Bastock and Dan Labbe recapped the game in their postgame video and this podcast is the audio version of that video.

Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson stopped throwing during Wednesday's practice due to general soreness ahead of potentially playing for the first time last season this Saturday night in the Browns' preseason finale. Now it's up in the air if he'll play or not and it has us wondering how concerned we should be.

It doesn’t sound like a foregone conclusion all of a sudden that Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson will play on Saturday in Seattle. Head caoch Kevin Stefanski said he will make a final decision later this week.

Browns rookie defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr. was allowed to practice on Wednesday, a day after he was charged for domestic violence. It was a bit of a surprise seeing him out there and head coach Kevin Stefanski evaded questions about it following practice.

Mary Kay Cabot, Ashley Bastock and Dan Labbe discussed the decision to allow Hall to practice on Wednesday’s Orange and Brown Talk podcast and why the Browns couldn’t just make the easy decision, at least for a day. They also discuss how Stefanski handled the situation and if he could have done a better job discussing it.
