Join Dr. Maryam Akbari, OMS resident in New York City, and Dr. Riddhi Patel, clinical instructor at the University of Cincinnati Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as they discuss mandibular condylar fractures. Mandibular condylar fracture is the most frequent fracture site competing with the body of the mandible, with over 80% being unilateral. Despite their common occurrences, they present some of the biggest management challenges for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. In this podcast, we have conducted a painstaking review of articles to present some evidence to help make an educated decision on when and how to manage a unilateral condylar fracture. Additionally, we provide a review on etiology and classification. This podcast is divided into two episodes to make it easy for our listeners to grasp some key concepts.
