1045: [Part 2] No, You Can't Make a Person Change by Mark Manson on Supporting Others and Setting a Good Example Aug 03, 2021
    Show notes

Mark Manson tells us why we can't make people change, and what to do instead. This is part 2 of 2.

Episode 1045: [Part 2] No, You Can't Make a Person Change by Mark Manson on Supporting Others and Setting a Good Example

Mark Manson was a full-time professional dating coach for men from 2008 until 2011. Sick of the industry, he wrote his first book, Models: Attract Women Through Honesty, and changed the name and focus of his business to address broader self-development topics for men. The book took off, selling tens of thousands of copies. As he branched out into deeper issues of masculinity, self-worth, and the changing cultural landscape, the site grew.

By 2013, he had begun writing about larger cultural issues — gender relations, happiness, ambition, life purpose, and cultural perspectives he had gathered while living in various countries around the world. Despite the fact that the business was still directed at men, thousands of women began reading and asking for advice as well.

That same year, he made the leap to his own site and domain, broadening the demographics of his audience. The site exploded, garnering millions of views each month.

Check out his book: The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F---.

Liz Greene with Introvert, Dear offers 6 simple ways to create alone time in a crowded room

Episode 1043: 6 Simple Ways to Create Alone Time in a Crowded Room by Liz Greene of Introvert Dear on Getting Privacy in Public

Jenn Granneman is the founder of Introvert, Dear and author of The Secret Lives of Introverts. She started Introvert, Dear in 2013 as her personal blog. She was living with an extroverted roommate, dating an extroverted guy, and working an extroverted job (teaching 4th grade). Jenn wanted to write about what it was like being an introvert living in an extrovert's world.

In true introvert form, she wrote her blog anonymously for almost two years. Jenn had no desire to be in the spotlight. And she had no idea her little blog would become this! Now, with the help of quiet ones around the world, she is on a mission: to let introverts everywhere know it's okay to be who they are.

Episode 1041: [Part 2] How to Raise Resilient Kids by Jen of This Time of Mine on Techniques For Mindful Parenting

Jen is a busy mom to four energetic kids and between taking care of them, running the household and trying to keep up with everything else she does and enjoys, she’s often found herself fantasizing about the moment she can finally sit down for the night. But through it all, she’s found that she’s happiest when she’s intentional in her approach. And even though it’s not always easy, she knows when she parents and lives her life on purpose, that’s when she can make the biggest difference for her children.

She founded This Time Of Mine to use as a platform to teach as many parents as will listen. She wants to meet you where you are and help you fall in love with parenting all over again.

Because she knows how hard it can be.

She also knows that when we learn to parent and live with intention, we can create more good times than bad. We can help our children WANT to do what’s right. And we can become the role model that walks along beside them.
