Worship Leader Taylor Cummings urges honest, unfiltered prayer with God, pointing to Psalm 22 and Jesus’ warning in Matthew 7 that real relationship means being truly known by Him. He encourages voicing every emotion so God can break down barriers and bring healing, leading us back to praise.
Pastor Jenae Acevedo explains that fearing God is reverential awe, not terror, contrasting it with the fear of man that leads to people-pleasing and compromise. Drawing from Matthew 10:28 and her experience after reading John Bevere’s The Awe of God, she calls us to prioritize God’s will over human approval.
Michael Kisaka reflects on Mark 10:13-16, where Jesus welcomes children and says we must receive God’s kingdom like them. He highlights childlike qualities—humility, trust, simplicity, sincerity, teachability, innocence, devotion, and love—illustrated by a little girl who saw no barrier of skin color.
Global Outreach Director Marissa Armit highlights how God’s command to leave part of the harvest for the sojourner, fatherless, and widow guides us today to intentionally set aside our abundance for those in need with excellence, not scraps. She also reminds us not to go back for what we’ve left, trusting it belongs to those God aims to bless.
Pastor Dru Rodriguez highlights how Moses’ face shone after speaking with God on Mount Sinai, showing that intimate time with God transforms us. He explains the Hebrew term behind “shone” and the historical horns imagery, pointing to a life that reflects God’s glory.
Worship Leader Taylor Cummings challenges us to honestly assess what we’re chasing and to align our time and focus with a genuine desire to be close to God, reminding us that our hearts follow our treasure.
Pastor Leah Klingseis shares how Psalm 139:7–8 moved from feeling restrictive to life-giving when she hit rock bottom, realizing God’s presence and kindness pursue us even in the consequences of our own choices, leading to repentance.
Pastor Matt Chavez shares how his grandmother’s steadfast prayer life and caregiving shaped his faith, pointing to Jesus’ words, “Take courage; I am here.” Her example reminds us that God sees, hears, and is present in every season.
Pastor Jesus Arriaga explains how the priests’ washing at the tabernacle points to our ongoing need for purity before God, now made possible through Jesus and the daily cleansing of God’s Word. He urges cultivating a steady rhythm in Scripture so God transforms our heart and mind.
