You may have lost out on good friends who have tried to tell you your vulnerabilities, probably in the fashion of, “See, you know what your problem is...” that you’ve rejected, all the while those who are (and were) really toxic for you never told you and will never tell you what your problems are. Why? If I want to use you, I want you vulnerable. I want you dependent on me. I want your mind. If I have your mind, I have your body. That person Who tried to tell you about a problem that could be a potential vulnerability for you was probably labeled as an asshole by you. But it takes someone bold and sometimes in the heat of an argument, to tell you something that you may need to know, only that your thinking brain is unable to analyze it because your thinking brain has shut down and you are operating in your emotions.
