Off-Duty Chicago Police Shoots Would-Be Gun Grabber: Was Her Training Good or…? Feb 19, 2023

On January 18, 2023, the Chicago Police Department (CPD) notified COPA of an officer-involved shooting. Based on preliminary information, the incident began when an off-duty officer approached four subjects who appeared to be in an altercation in the 1300 block of West 90th Street. Three of the subjects eventually departed and walked west bound on 90th Street. One subject remained and continued to engage with the off-duty officer. As the off-duty officer began to walk away, the subject grabbed her from behind and reached for her weapon, which resulted in a physical struggle. As both parties fell to the ground, the off-duty officer’s weapon discharged, striking the subject, who later succumbed to his injuries. Condolences, A Tragic Accident, Questionable Support, Chicago Violence, and Cowardice on Trial Jun 13, 2019

Tonight’s episode focuses on the traffic crash and tragic accident in Chicago’s Gresham neighborhood with an off-duty police officer who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol. While tragic, the officer will be held accountable. That said, there were signs that precipitated this crash. People who likely knew the officer Who could’ve stopped him before getting in the vehicle who could have thought more of them selves and about themselves then hurting the officers feelings by taking his keys from him. Instructor Mike inquires about the support for this officer while still sending condolences to the family. We further look at Chicago violence. What, if anything, can be done to address the violence in Chicago? Travel with us to Florida where we look at former Broward County Sheriffs deputy Scot Peterson and his failure to act during the Parkland Florida shooting. Illinoisans, I KNOW you DIDN’T read the law. So, lemme help ya. Yep. They passed the bill for weed for enjoyment can be used in IL. 🚨🚨NEWSFLASH🚨🚨: Weed will NOT yet be legal until Jan. 1, 2020. When legalized, you STILL can’t smoke-n-drive, smoke-n-shoot, smoke-n-buy a gun, smoke-n-be free from a drug test. Yo street weed man is not a legal source from whom you can purchase. Illegal marijuana/narcotics distribution is still illegal. Possession of certain amounts is still illegal. Jail and unemployment is still real. And the feds can still bust you (Insert DEA’s face here 👉🏽😁👈🏽). Smoke away. Finally, gave you what you wanted. You might be gunless, jobless, defenseless, car-less..but mellow, painfree (maybe)...and hungry. I hear White Castle, Doritos, and Mountain Dew works. Worse thing to give an oppressed people is a depressant.

But, did it work because you were lucky? Was the bad guy operating to unlawfully kill you on an off or non-peak day? Will it work again? Can we always improve? Will you always do it right? AARs or What Would Mike Do?) WWMDs give you a perspective to analyze possible shortcomings and areas to improve from and in while praising what was done correctly.
