LIVE from SEC Media Days: Elko’s Trophy Case Quote + Rivalry Stakes Jul 23, 2026
    Show notes

Jeff Howe and CJ Vogel - live from Raymond James Stadium, and Marcus Myers break down the growing intensity around the Texas-Texas A&M rivalry. The crew reacts to Mike Elko and the Aggies openly calling the Texas game a must-win, explains why the matchup could carry SEC Championship and College Football Playoff implications again, and compares the rivalry’s renewed stakes to Texas-Oklahoma and other major SEC battles.

The show also dives into Texas A&M’s biggest questions under Elko, including Holmon Wiggins taking over play-calling duties, Marcel Reed’s development, and whether the Aggies have the right pieces to finally break through. Plus, the guys discuss Florida’s John Sumrall, Cole Hutson’s eligibility update, what Texas fans should want to hear from Steve Sarkisian, Arch Manning, Colin Simmons, and Trevor Goosby at SEC Media Days, and why Elko’s “empty trophy case” comment is already becoming rivalry fuel.

“We Haven’t Won Anything” | Mike Elko on Motivating Players, NIL, Texas A&M Expectations in 2026 Jul 22, 2026
    Show notes

Mike Elko’s message is not built around hype — it is built around restraint, urgency and unfinished business. After Texas A&M’s 11-win season and first College Football Playoff appearance, Elko refuses to let the Aggies act like they have arrived. His strongest point is simple and cutting: Texas A&M has made progress, but the program still has not won a championship. That is why the empty trophy case becomes the emotional center of his message — a reminder that the Aggies are closer, but not finished.

The audio also leans heavily into what has to change for Texas A&M to take the next step. Marcel Reed has to keep growing, the Aggies have to protect the football, and the defense has to create more takeaways after a season where turnovers helped define the biggest losses. The Texas rivalry hangs over everything, too. Elko knows the Lone Star Showdown now carries playoff and championship implications, and the pain of losing to Texas gives this entire conversation an edge: A&M is not chasing respect anymore — it is chasing proof.

Kewan Lacy & Jadan Baugh Press Conference | Texas Football Breaking News | SEC Media Days Jul 22, 2026
    Show notes

Lacy enters the discussion with proven production, explosiveness, and the kind of home-run ability that can change a season for Ole Miss. Baugh, meanwhile, brings a bruising, tone-setting style that gives Florida a real offensive identity as the Gators try to climb back into the SEC fight.

Lacy is chasing respect as possibly the best running back in America, while Baugh is carrying the pressure of helping restore Florida’s edge. In a conference defined by violence at the line of scrimmage, this is more than a ranking debate. It is about who can take over a game, break a defense’s will, and become the back no one wants to tackle in November.

Marcel Reed & Trinidad Chambliss Press Conference | Texas Football Breaking News | SEC Media Days Jul 22, 2026
    Show notes

This audio hears from two of the most electric quarterbacks in the SEC: Marcel Reed at Texas A&M and Trinidad Chambliss at Ole Miss. Reed brings the kind of athleticism that can wreck a defense when the play breaks down, but the pressure now is on him to become a more complete quarterback and turn explosive flashes into championship-level consistency.

On the other side, Chambliss has become one of college football’s most unlikely stars — a quarterback who climbed from Division II to the center of the SEC spotlight and now carries real expectations.

LIVE: Texas’ Toughness Test - Muschamp, Juluke & The Physicality Fix Sark Needs Jul 22, 2026
    Show notes

Jeff Howe and CJ Vogel go live from the OTF house at SEC Media Days to break down one of the biggest questions facing Texas football in 2026: can the Longhorns become tougher and more physical when it matters most? The conversation centers on Will Muschamp’s impact, what Georgia players said about his intensity, and why Steve Sarkisian’s hires of Muschamp and Jabbar Juluke point directly to a renewed emphasis on physicality, discipline, and finishing in critical situations.

The guys also dive into Georgia’s standard under Kirby Smart, why Texas still has to prove it can win a “phone booth fight” against elite SEC opponents, and how the Longhorns’ running backs must change the tone under Juluke. Plus, Jeff and CJ discuss Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Arch Manning’s edge over rival quarterbacks, and whether Texas has the talent and toughness to finally get over the hump in the SEC and College Football Playoff race.

“Can You Win a Game When It Gets Ugly?” — Rusty Mansell’s Blunt Texas-Georgia Reality Check Jul 21, 2026
    Show notes

Rusty Mansell joins On Texas Football for a raw, football-first conversation about where Texas really stands in the SEC after its battles with Georgia. From the outside looking in, the Longhorns have the talent, the roster, the quarterback buzz and the national spotlight — but Mansell makes clear that the next step is not about hype. It is about whether Texas can win the kind of ugly, physical, line-of-scrimmage games that Georgia has built its empire on.

This conversation cuts straight into the heart of the Texas-Georgia rivalry: is Texas ready to be a true SEC monster, or is there still a gap between looking the part and living it every Saturday? Mansell breaks down the difference between athleticism and physicality, between being dangerous and being proven, and between having bark and having bite. For Texas, the challenge is no longer getting noticed. The challenge is beating the standard.

Kirby Smart's NOT HAPPY With WRs Being Questioned | SEC Media Days Press Conference Jul 21, 2026
    Show notes

Kirby Smart’s SEC Media Days audio carries the weight of a coach trying to hold two truths at once: Georgia is still built for championship expectations, but real pain is sitting right beside the promise. The most emotional moment comes when Smart talks about Dante Dowdell’s accident, asking for prayers and protecting the family’s privacy while the Bulldogs wait for clarity. It turns a preseason football conversation into something heavier — a reminder that behind every roster update is a young man, a family, and a locker room trying to keep moving.

The show also covers Missouri running back Ahmad Hardy’s status, Tennessee’s quarterback battle ahead of Texas’ SEC opener in Knoxville, Kirby Smart’s confidence in Georgia, and which SEC coaches are under the most pressure entering the season.
